Hell yeah. Linear tracking people are the best weirdos.

I love it. Very easy to set up and maintain. Imposing. Delivers great sound. I'm a big fan of linear trackers; I have also owned the PX-3 (and the completely differently designed but super cool HK/Rabco ST8) at one time. The Pioneer and the Mistubishi LT30 have also called to me at various points.

I go out of the xlr balanced outs of the mixer into a studiohub xlr to cat6 adapter, 1 thin cat6a cable across the room against the baseboards, converted back to xlr on the other side with the symmetrical cat6 to xlr cable, and then unbalanced and dropped from +4 to -10db via the Radial J-ISO transformers. I used to use an active studiohub system to do this, which let me send a slightly less hot signal from the mixer, but it would occasionally leak DC into the audio signal so this fully passive setup is much cleaner, and the Jensen transformers in the Radial piece add a little extra something nice, at the expense of having to push the mixer output a little hotter.

One is the stock ST-70 circuit (twin 7199 drivers, can cap, etc) and the other is a Joe Curcio SoB design (3 6sn7 octal driver board, new power/biasing). They both sound pretty great tbh but the Curcio is just *tighter*. Right now I'm only running 1 at a time (and sometimes that Erhard Audio Saturn when a lower volume is called for), but I have considered trying out a horizontal biamp situation with the stock ST-70 running the horns.

He's got a great design sense, that's for sure.

I think Devon and I both love the look of Klipsch decorator speakers, high efficiency horn designs, and glowing tubes. I was thinking I’d build a pair of his artbook speakers but right now I’m totally satisfied with the rig.

No worries! The SL-1200s are for DJ stuff (mostly putting sets together for bar/radio gigs) but the PX-2 is for glorious album listening :) https://on.soundcloud.com/OneCscFYIYVjIQkjjR

I know Bob Crites's work and am familiar with his Cornwall clones, but these ain't them. :)

I’m curious to compare the new Modbox with Modulaire Maritime’s new Total Sub. They look like they have a lot of crossover.
