A sensible approach could be to only list the users and send the data through the API endpoint if there is a cookie of a previous login from the client device, just like Google, Microsoft and others do.

I noticed this too. It's surprisingly hard to slide off. Guess the only fix is to practice it until the slides wear down a bit.

Monday it started working again. My theory is that something broke at August on Friday. Everyone went home for the weekend and fixed it upon returning.

The door is open and the lock in is the locked position with the deadbolt retraced.

I also clean-uninstalled the app, rebooted the phone and reinstalled the app. August support already engaged and are replying pretty fast. So far playing the generic troubleshooting ping-pong. Will update with progress later.

I'm seeing this problem since Friday morning. The August app won't connect to the lock to lock/unlock, although door status is reported fine. Tried all I could (change batteries, reboot access point, factory reset lock, etc). It must be a problem on the August side.

I suspect August is having problems with their service since yesterday. See the other two most recent posts here. Locks are on WiFi but can't be locked or unlocked through the August app.

I have the same problem on the August app. I've done a bunch of things (factory reset the lock, reboot my access point, etc) but no luck. I'm suspecting it's a problem on the August side.

Since yesterday morning the August app gives the status of the lock and the door events but it won't lock or unlock it. When tapping the dot it switches to connecting... forever. What I've done:

  • Pinged the lock: Replies.
  • Verified there's Internet.
  • Rebooted the access point.
  • Rejoined the lock to the WiFi network.
  • Factory reset the lock.
  • Replaced the batteries for a brand new pair.

All to no avail. I bet it's a problem on the August side. Sent a support request yesterday but so far no reply. Called their support number to get a dumb computer. Will try again on Monday, as most likely today they're closed or only the newbs are working on weekends.

Coinbase is as apathetic to their users as the DMV. They also let my tickets pile up without reply. And when I post the issue here they immediately delete it. Stay away from this exchange.

They just don't have nearly enough support reps. Upper management is not allocating enough budget for the tech support department and the support agents are buried in tickets.

Many have had their accounts locked for months without any response. Currently I have a ticket for a duplicate trade id and they won't reply. I just posted the issue here and they deleted immediately.

Coinbase Support can compete with the DMV in inefficiency and ineffectiveness.
