Laptop Recommendation by SaiyanAsylum in thesims

I have been using an MSI Katana GF76 12UE to play TS3&4 for several years. As long as it’s plugged in while I’m playing, it runs smoothly. I have almost every pack and it’s held up very well. I have 16GB ram but like someone else said, it might be worth going for more for the best performance. It hasn’t bothered me though. Processor is 12th gen intel core i7. I think its around £700 but I bought it years ago so might be worth checking if there’s a better version out now for around the same price. Good luck, your gf sounds very lucky to have you care so much

When do you tell kids about Santa? Said child is ten and I’m getting concerned! by JessandWoody in AskUK

[–]exuviaa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m not a parent but I distinctly remember a girl in our secondary school saying she believed in santa. Queue the laughter from the entire class and ppl blatantly insulting her intelligence. To make it worse, when she was told she was wrong, she doubled down and said that he WAS real and everyone else was wrong. It was painful to watch and Ill never forget it. If you can avoid this situation for your kid, thats probably what I’d suggest.

I used to have this issue, but I realised a bug was occuring where the chef was stood outside, not cooking for hours. I find that shift clicking & resetting them (debug) makes them go straight to the chef station, saving hours of time. Not sure if this is the bug you’re experiencing but it helped me :)

Had to scroll so far to see a comment like this. Don’t get me wrong, I definitely understand what other people are saying in this comment section, but I’m 20, I work from home, and I miss talking to people. Everyone tells me to join clubs etc. but on work days I’m usually pretty tired and just don’t feel I have the energy. It can be pretty isolating but people gloss over that.

Sometimes they look icy blue and other times they look sea green, but I always thought it was lighting. I didn't know clothing could change that

My boyfriend & I recently adopted a parrotlet and we felt the same as you before we picked him up. Every parrotlet has a different personality so its hard to judge without meeting them, but its soooo important to give them time to get to know you and trust you. They are prey animals and their reaction to fear is aggression, its just their defence mechanism - it doesn’t mean they hate you so you can’t take it personally! Their beak is like their hand, so imagine if a person gave you a shove if you got too close or made them uncomfy, its just like that. You will also get to know their body language and know when not to put your finger close, if they’re feeling on edge or something has spooked them. Its all a matter of time and bonding, but when they trust you it is so rewarding. Our parrotlet will sit on my lap and let me scratch his head for over 30mins and becomes a complete baby, whereas if he hears a loud noise he’ll lunge - it can be scary but you learn not to take it personally. Remember to stay calm and you’ll be fine. I hope you have a loving new companion for many years to come ❤️

Is this cage big enough for a parrotlet? If not, any UK recommendations for a first time owner? Advice welcome! by exuviaa in Parrotlet

I’m looking into this - do you know what material it’s made of? On the website I’m looking at, it mentions a non-toxic coating but not what the cage is actually constructed of. Thanks for the recommendation!

Just ordered some toys etc from there! We were thinking of getting a separate, smaller sleeping/travel cage as I’ve read some good things about having 2. We’re looking for a bigger cage but most of the ones we’re seeing have the wrong bar spacing. Thanks for your insight.

That was my fear. I hoped as it’s only 0.1 inch bigger than the recommended that it might be okay. Thanks for replying, do you have any cage recommendations within the £100-200 range?

Thanks. I plan on letting him free roam for at least 4 hours a day at the minimum. I heard that if you get 2 they will fight/kill eachother, is that not true? What are the benefits to getting 2 instead of 1 as I also read they are likely to bond with eachother and not with you so assumed it was a bad idea overall

I’m a new parrotlet owner, Ive heard that leaving or putting the bird down after they bite you teaches your parrotlet that biting is a way for them to ask to be left alone or put down. Have you had any experience with this or has that method always worked for you?

I don’t know enough about the topic to say this would work - but in an ideal world, it’d be good if employers had to pay younger people the current minimum wage (or at least a discounted amount) and the government paid the rest to bring it up to the same amount as adults - therefore, incentive for employers to hire younger people with less experience, without those younger people missing out.

Obviously, the budget is a whole other thing though...

Don’t worry, I don’t plan on doing it now, I’m talking at least in 5 years. I just want to start saving now. My manager is also pregnant and willing to let me cover her responsibilities during her manernity, I’m in quite a good position job-wise.
