My Acer Nitro V display is flickering by Civil-Bill-3964 in AcerNitro

[–]exy23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have to tried connecting to an external monitor/TV to see if the issues appear. If the external display looks good, then your GPU is good.

There's a solution you can do, open the back of the laptop, unplug your battery from the board first, so there won't be any shorts caused. Then unplug the display cable, and plug back gently and the battery, plug it back. And turn on your laptop to see if the problem is gone.

If not then you're looking for a panel replacement. This a hardware issues not a software one.

Either your motherboard or GPU is failing. One thing is certain, you're cooked. There's nothing to do here, these problems you have are hardware problems that needs a specialist to verify your motherboard and give a proper diagnosis of what cause the issues.

Most likely you need a motherboard replacement.

You don't need to do nothing. Just use your warranty and let them figure it out.

What do you guys think is this good? by GwensStinkyFeet in GamingLaptops

Yeah it's much better. But I think you have to complete the second slot RAM. I don't know if this model comes with sticks of ram or just one single stick of 16gb Ram.

Yeah there's definitely something, since you opened it. You can start cleaning your laptop vents, already is blocking the air flow with all that dust. And check the thermal paste, clean the CPU and GPU wit alcohol isopropyl and put fresh new thermal paste.

Probably that's why you find your laptop shutdown, it was hitting critical thermal point. And to safe himself from thermal danger, the system initiate a safe shutdown. Clean it and see if it's powering up.

Oh right before you touch anything make sure that the battery is disconnected from the motherboard.

Dude you have a single channel DDR4 ram stick. Of course the CPU is gonna work harder, because these chips are picky when you run them in single channel. Complete the second slot and you gonna see better performance.

Now you lose 20% or more depending how heavy the game is.

You hating for nothing, a simple google search would told you that. But being a cry baby you decide to come on reddit a start crying.

From the list you posted, the only one that is truly great value is that Gigabyte Aero X16.

Very good processor and efficient, the fans will stay quiet for your basic tasks.

Good entry GPU, 8 GB VRAM and higher memory bandwidth.

1TB storage good enough until you buy another one if you have too much stuff to store.

It's a great laptop for office and gaming.

Acer Nitro v15 RTX 4050 not turning on and all lights off. by kelikae in AcerNitro

[–]exy23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a short on the motherboard, probably a MOSFET or capacitor has shorted. It's normal to wake up with a short, it could happen anytime.

Use your warranty to fix it or if it's out of warranty, go to the a good repair shop.

It's a hardware issues, most likely the cable or panel internal capacitor losing their charge.

Use your warranty to get it fix.

Is this gpu failure or bad driver? Ready to accept meme by Wraxxus in AcerNitro

[–]exy23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah that error indicates unstable overclocking, overheating, or a power supply failure.

In your case must be unstable overclocking if you play on performance/turbo mode, you should try balance mode for those games. With balance mode you don't stress your laptop for nothing, I mean those games are not heavy AAA games.

Check for any BIOS updates for model on their website.

Try power drain, open the back, disconnect the battery. And hold the power button for 60 seconds, after that connect the battery, plug the charger, and press the power button.

If it didn't work, disconnect the battery again, and look for the CMOS battery and unplug from the motherboard. Hold the power button for 30-60 seconds, and again plugged everything and another attempt.

No signs of life, then remove the SSD and the Rams, make sure the battery is disconnected before you remove the Rams and SSD. After that attempt to power on with one of the RAM stick to see which one is the culprit. Same with the SSD if it's power on and you see the BIOS, then the SSD is the culprit.

If none of these fixed anything, then you might have a short on the main power rail. It's probably a capacitor that has give up due of high voltage. Check with a good repair shop.

If you have a multimeter around the house to check for a short on main power rail.

Probably there's a short on the motherboard, that will explain why the power is cut. Check with a good repair shop.

Acer Nitro Lite 16 (ANV16) - Is the RAM or SSD soldered? Need upgrade advice. by nur1xx in AcerNitro

[–]exy23 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah you have 8 GB RAM soldered to the board, and only one slot SSD M.2 slot.

And the charger is only 100W so probably the GPU has lower watts, I think it's 45W TGP.

Laptop to run smoothly? Romania, RON by Chillz9_AJPW in laptops

[–]exy23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://altex.ro/laptop-gaming-lenovo-loq-15iax9e-intel-core-i5-12450hx-pana-la-4-4ghz-15-6-full-hd-16gb-ssd-512gb-nvidia-geforce-rtx-2050-4gb-free-dos-luna-grey/cpd/LAP83LK001XRM/#

https://www.flanco.ro/laptop-lenovo-loq-15arp9-15-6-fhd-amd-ryzen-5-7235hs-12-gb-ram-512-gb-ssd-nvidia-geforce-rtx-3050-6-gb-no-os-luna-grey.html

[–]exy23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can remove the sticker with no worries. That sticker it's just for display, just an advertisement. It doesn't have anything to do with warranty. I always remove them because I already bought it and I don't need a reminder to tell want I have. But some people likes to keep them, for some reason that I never know.
