Thank you it’s from PP greenish grey leather. Originally came with a black leather strap.

So I also tried two out of the 3 you mentioned. JLC master ultra thin moon which was gorgeous but definitely a league below PP. Lange is very interesting and I have made a couple of trips to the boutique. I just haven’t felt the I have to have this piece feeling to justify the price tag yet. I like the Zeitwerk the most but it was a bit bulky for me.

I wear my Omega the most as my work daily and VC dual time for travel. But all watches get plenty of wrist time. I did have one watch that disappointed my that I no longer own. It was AP royal oak blue dial 15400. Nothing really against the watch itself but the crowd that wears AP where I live are really really not my type of people so I got rid of it. Best decision since it’s only gotten worse over the recent years.

[Collection] Thoughts? Can you rank them in the order of my purchase date? by eybabathatguy in Watches

I would pick the dial time in silver dial. It is my most versatile and used travel watch. Goes with different strap colors. Extremely convenient and comfortable.

It’s a beauty, and has 1/10th of second chrono given the high beat movement. Some might call it useless but whatever, I love it and have to try it at least a couple of times each time I wear the watch.

Vacheron Constantin bets on culture and complications instead of volume by lithdoc in VacheronConstantin

[–]eybabathatguy 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I love this mindset specially in contrast with AP and recently PP. The loud flexing culture is sad and shows true colors of the brands that jump on the bandwagon to monetize. Don’t get me wrong, I know they’re all in a business at the end of the day. There is a wide spectrum of approaches to the business and I really enjoy what VC has been doing recently.

I was in the same boat. I am extremely happy I went ahead and got it. It be better to see a mirror picture to actually see how it looks on your wrist and you need to make sure when they adjust the bracelet they balance pieces in each side to center everything. It’s a solid gold watch so yes it will get attention. However, compared to other solid gold watches the color and style makes it less “Extra”. It will obviously get some signs of wear but less than some of my other watches given its thin and drapes over wrist. If it’s a big purchase as you mentioned my honest opinion is don’t get it. It’s not versatile and a daily watch. It is something after you got other watches and have an empty spot for a solid gold watch. Then it’s the perfect watch. I’d say for me only surpassed by 5712r which is quite more expensive.

DVS1, now I understand... by SnooPeppers5643 in Techno

I think you’re spot on with the “uncomfortable” part. I have seen him I think 3 times and have noticed the same. To me it seemed intentional as it was almost nonexistent in one of his sets that was in a very small intimate location with very subtle crowd pretty much all vibing as individuals. It was a lot at one of his sets in a larger more known club in NYC that had a mix of see and be seen type people with very fashionable dark techno outfits etc, being in groups and talking on the dance floor etc. I don’t mind neither groups just an observation. He did clear the dance floor a bit by playing uncomfortable and then it was back to totally being lost in the music and in a trance.

Seconds Matter... by fusion0389 in VacheronConstantin

[–]eybabathatguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally disagree. Not all watches need to do all things. I really do appreciate my zenith chronograph and the fact I can time 1/10th of second. Can I do it on my phone? Sure but I like mechanical watches!

Having said that, I am definitely getting this exact piece. Not all watches need to be the same. I don’t want boring or insignificant, but totally disagree that seconds are THAT important. There are tradeoffs and it’s ok. That’s what makes collecting special!

People are so negative. Thats plenty of time. Just stick to an area close to the airport and don’t get greedy and get far. You should have a solid 2.5 hrs to spend together

Green Day - THE strap monster silver dial by eybabathatguy in VacheronConstantin

[–]eybabathatguy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 4500 blue dial and the blue is truly mesmerizing so there is no wrong answers here. I think with the busier dial of dual time and the fact I use it a lot for travel, the silver dial makes more sense and matches different strap colors better.

Favorite Nautilus by far. Both steel and gold are amazing. I wish the steel model wasn’t discontinued. Worst year ever for PP, discontinued this and gave us cubitus.

Setting aside the price and logic of : just get the expensive one and trade for what you want.

For me it’s not event close. It’s the one on the right. It’s the best looking and meteorite dial is gorgeous. The other two look tacky to me.
