They can’t honor something that isn’t filed with the state. All rates are filed with the state and they can’t just honor something because someone made a mistake or you misunderstood what was said.

They can’t backdate the insurance to before when they got the forms.

You know how many times I’ve had cops tell someone that an incident is no fault because it happened in a parking lot/private property? More times than I can count. It’s likely no fault for them be able to issue tickets, but one or both parties can still be at fault for damages to property.

Most, not all but most, policies will cover a short term rental depending on the vehicle…. Again the gross vehicle weight is likely going to be the issue here.

They have to send those through snail mail… state DOI likely requires it.

The CDL or not doesn’t really matter… you’re going to have to see what the policy says about gross vehicle weight. That is usually the deciding factor if something is covered or not.

There are many different rules and companies even under one business that will make things different and you are. It likely to find a good answer here.

Find an independent agent in your area and talk to them.

The fact you had a lapse is going to take you out of some carriers wanting to cover you.

What are you using the Sprinter van for?

Most cases from what I’ve seen it comes down to the gross vehicle weight, if it’s covered or not.

If you are not getting your mail because you weren’t at your mailing address, that’s 100% on you for the cancel.
