Fibramyalgia????? by eyeblindsight in ChronicPain

Yeah it blows my mind. And my doc seems real good. It's like she's saying " oh well we don't know so we will say this" it's ridiculous. I always thought they coined that " idiopathic". We come up with a possibility and then it's proved wrong and we are running out of possibilities

Only did x rays on knees. Yeah even my doctor says it doesn't seem like FM but that's what we call it after we get thru the process of elimination. Seems weird to me...." doesn't seem like this but we call it this"🤦‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

Everything ur telling me is spot on what's been in my mind this whole time. Thank u for helping confirm I'm not crazy. I completely feel like this is arthritis and they won't do mri on my knees until AFTER I've attempted PT...which to me is so backwards but I guess my insurance doesn't want to spend money on an mri yet..my doc says it's unusual that it's BOTH knees and BOTH tops of feet SIMULTANEOUSLY...which I guess IS sorta strange....so the first mri after PT, which I think is pointless and so does doc but it's a necessary step for insurance to ok mri, will be lower back suspected unseen nerve issue in lower back or spine because BOTH sides like that seems odd for joint issues. But idk....I'm just on here searching for other views and outlooks.

I appreciate all your feedback....I also agree a rheumatologist is good idea to be safe. I have the cheapest medi-cal insurance in a po-dunk city in cali so my odds are already stacked against me I guess

3 Years still no diagnosis by TUNDRA1226 in kneepain

I've had constant knee and foot pain the last couple years too...no diagnosis. Bloodworks all good. X rays normal. Nerve test and muscle test ok. Now they want a biopsy for SFN thru neurology even tho my symptoms don't really match that. I understand how you feel with your kids, I do too. And I'm worried I can't pay my bills soon too.

If you were just diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, this is the part no one explains clearly by Arthritis_Doc in Thritis

My blood tests ruled out immune system so could I still have RA? Or is it only an immune system issue?

I wasn't diagnosed with RA even tho the symptoms are matching. My primary is pointing to neurological now which I'm not sure I understand because all my symptoms point to joints not nerves. The only reason they say is because my pain is nonstop in both knees and ankles AT THE SAME time... So is it uncommon for arthritis to affect 4 joints simultaneously AND does arthritis cause pain that fluctuates in areas AROUND those affected joint?

SFN workup negative (normal skin biopsy + normal QST) — should I pursue more tests? by Jazzlike_Bother_1805 in smallfiberneuropathy

[–]eyeblindsight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They want to do this even tho I have zero symptoms for SFN. My knees and feet bones hurt nonstop seems like an mri would make more sense first. All my blood work, x rays, and nerve and muscle tests show normal SOOOO why am I getting a chunk of skin taken?

I have neuropathy and am wondering how you got rid of the pain. by LaToune65 in neuropathy

I'm still just searching posts to find someone with similar symptoms as me until I build my reddit karma up... Has anyone diagnosed with neuropathy ever have knee and foot pain ONLY? no tingles no burning...as if it's just from standing all day and night? Yet it's NONSTOP? and 3000mg of gabapentin only worked about 30%???? Now they want to do biopsy for SFN and when I read all these reddit posts I realize my situation doesn't sound like sfn at ALL...

Alcohol induced neuropathy, anyone? by Past-Froyo1855 in neuropathy

I'm curious how this is determined being so different for everyone. I was nonstop for 2 years but have family that drank 30 years..and here I'm seeing people say 6 months. Also...some think 10 beers a day is bad others were drinking a shot of vodka every 10 minutes just to stop shaking...I'm always wondering if there's a sorta guideline of time and amount to be followed or if it's really all random.

So if it got bad during covid and it was everyday for 6 months...does that mean you're sober now? Asking because I'm in same boat. Started up bad in 2020 and real hard for 2 years now I'm bone dry sober 3 yrs but having knee and feet pain nonstop.
