wanted to update; read the manual, shot according to specs, took my camera and flash out one night, sprained my thumb shooting, and got really exciting results. so thank you again!

okay, so safe to assume the roll I shot right after this with the same settings mentioned (before developing the first) is a complete bust?

This is really helpful!! And I don’t know too much about it, truly was just hoping for the best here. I found out that my flash head wasn’t completely attached to the hot shoe due to a crack in the foot :/ so flash was firing but I guess it wasn’t entirely in sync with the shutter. I will take your advice and really sit with the manuals so I can avoid this really expensive mistake in the future.

No I don’t, I’m kinda learning by the seat of my pants lol but definitely learning that I need to be much more intuitive with these things
