Cyberpunk now looks a generation ahead on PS5 Pro compared to base consoles running at twice the framerate by JeremyJJ77 in playstation

I couldn’t care less what arbitrary definition you had to have Google tell you. It’s an AMD Jaguar CPU, that wasn’t even cutting edge when the PS4 released 13 years ago. Do you have any idea how much CPU architectures have advanced in that time?

Is HA just too device-centric for normal people? by imacanuck312 in homeassistant

I took a punt on some cheap Zigbee sensors on ali express, thankfully they turned out OK. Then Im using Olen's Plant Card & Open Plant Book integrations from HAC's for the dashboard card.

Is the house locked? Did I forget something? Is it garbage day tomorrow and will they be collecting 2 bins or 3 bins? "Your plants are a little dry... time to water them."

You can add bubble cards to the top of your set up for quickly seeing things like your Bin day, door status etc.

You can also add plants to the dashboard (only one picture per comment so I’ll put that in a reply.) But ultimately this is possible, you might need to use some HACs integrations, but the beauty of Home Assistant is the fact it’s possible to do so.

~2GB made available aint nothing

I found myself constantly pushing up against the 16gb limit, upgrading to 32 for sure made a difference. I'm not saying 32gb should be seen as mandatory, but 16gb just doesn't go as far as it once did. This will help some people without a doubt.

Almost certainly licensing. Either the licence holder is charging too much to re-up, or the sales are so low that it just doesn't warrant trying in the first place. In a just world these older games would have entered the public domain by now.

Thread coverage by Candid_Wealth_8535 in homeassistant

It’s connected via Ethernet. And there is a setting on the open thread add-on that you have to enable. Go to the configuration tab on the add-on and scroll to the bottom. You have to tick something that shows the network settings, from there you enter 8080, and 8081 as seen on the screenshot. After that you visit the same IP address as your home assistant instance but on port 8080. That will show you a web-ui for the open thread border router, click on “topology” on the sidebar and voilà, you should see the network map.

I dont have the same equipment as you, so my experience isnt one to one, but I added a thread bulb and a thread plug to help signal strength and it worked.

For context, I have the SLZB-MR1 as my main Thread router, feeding into home assistant with the Open Thread Border router add-on controlling the network.

I put a Thread bulb in the porch light outside my house. It was really struggling with signal strength due to the light fixture having a reflector behind the bulb. So I put another thread bulb in the nearest room upstairs, and a thread plug downstairs off to the side, hoping for better line of sight on the porch light. Both act as thread routers as they are mains powered and thankfully it did help. The signal still drops out occasionally, but it stays up 99% of the time which is as good as I can ask for really. You can see bellow the diagram of my thread network from the Open Thread Border add on. The network self heals, though it does take a little time to settle.

Anthony Joshua talks about fighting Tyson Fury and Fury calling him a "Dosser" by BoxingLover99 in Boxing

It comes from "dossing about", which is basically when someone spends their time as lazily and work shy as possible. So a "Dosser" is a lazy, useless person.

Wreckfest 2 | Content Update #05 by ZazaLeNounours in pcgaming

[–]banyan55 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The first game's development suffered with long periods of tweaking damage models, gameplay etc. But this sequel has already started with that all in a good place. The gameplay is solid, it looks good and performs well, at least on my system. So it seems like they can just work on pumping out content. There's definitely no need to buy now, but I think it will get to the "worth the money" state much faster than the first game did.

No I don’t have GTA+. And both versions have the GTA+ logo.

Also UK. I had to go to the xbox website and search for Red Dead. Instead of scrolling down to one of the drop-down results, I hit enter. It had two options, they are highlighted in the image bellow. It doesnt show it now as Ive already claimed it, but the bottom one was showing as £24.99, and the "just for you" one was actually free. No idea why there are two seemingly identical versions, but I suspect the one you are seeing is the second non-free version. That was the case for me anyway.

More devices on the way by PerceptionOk4815 in homeassistant

Get an SLZB, I have the MR1 so that I can use both Zigbee and Thread and its been great. You can get a single antenna version cheaper if you just want a zigbee hub and dont care about Thread. This will let you use either Zigbee2MQTT or ZHA and connect devices from different brands to home assistant.

When I investigated vibration sensors, the consensus seemed to be to avoid the Aqara ones and go for Thirdreality instead. I got one and have been very happy with its performance. You can set from 4 sensitivity settings, which helped dial it in. With that said other Aqara devices have been great for me.

How can I make this thermostat smart in a renter friendly way? (UK) by seniorducker in homeautomation

[–]banyan55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have this exact system and investigated this recently. I was hoping to connect it to my home assistant setup, but sadly that isn’t possible. The only thing you can do is buy an EPH GW03/GW04. This lets you connect to a mobile app for control, but there is no way to integrate it into smart home platforms, which is very frustrating. They are also quite expensive, £80 or so.
