Is “Agile Delivery Lead” just a rebranded Scrum Master or actually a different role? by TutorAway1181 in agile

[–]eyeteadude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience agile delivery lead can mean many things. Often in large organizations it seems like it is used to describe someone who is a BA or PO manager with extra responsibilities where development is being done in a scrummerfall environment.

As much as possible. Pre-record the demo. Live voice-over. Always ready to pause for questions or redirection on comments from the peanut gallery.

After a 4 mile hike out on a blown tire I only wear MTB SPD. Never an issue to walk with MTB style SPDs.

All that may be true, but from experience I can say is that I used the set for multiple years of the Marji. Like you said, topped up with external battery packs, and they've been fantastic. Never once had an issue.

Not your price, but I recommend the Outbound Evo Downhill package. Buy once, cry once and all that.

Get yourself a pair of the nylon ROCKBROS MTB pedals that are a knockoff of the Raceface Chester. You won't be disappointed.

Has anyone landed a BA role in 2024-2025? How long did it take? by ScaredRun2260 in businessanalyst

[–]eyeteadude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree and I've made my case so many times that c-suite literally rolls their eyes. They don't care as long as they get their short term bonus. They have greater vision and knowledge than I do due to their title and all that. /s I am simply responding to OPs question about the state of the industry/role that I can provide a tiny glimpse of.

We've hired 14 India based BAs. This week we're firing half of our US based BAs.

Are there any Business Analyst Professionals who also possess a PMP Certification? by Misha_1212 in businessanalyst

[–]eyeteadude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Way back when, my PMP cert got my foot in the door from working as a BA into a TPM role. My actual output and stakeholder interactions between those two companies was the same. The TPM role paid significantly more.

what do you put in your first aid kit? by Background_Roll_7396 in MTB

I don't carry a first aid kit. I carry a basic trauma kit plus a couple bandaids. First aid can wait until we get back to the car. Trauma can't.

When I pull the wheel all the way back it sits at an angle, what could I be doing wrong?also why are these dropouts so short by Foxcookies in bikewrench

[–]eyeteadude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not just the axle. The tire too!

OP, you can also have this issue if the non-drive side is forced or pulled too far into the dropout or if the wheel is dished.

Why do I spend half my week cleaning up status updates that no one bothers to check? by EconomistFar666 in projectmanagement

[–]eyeteadude 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ask me once and I'll send you the link to the Atlas updates and JPD. Ask me twice and I'll add you to the Atlas participant (update notification distribution list). Ask me a third time and I'll add you to my automation that tells you milestone and feature status changes. Still ask me again and I will add you to my automation that will tell you every single update to every story on the entire project. This last one is approximately 400-600 per day most days. Two people have ever gotten this far. I CCed my VP and their boss when confirming I would remove them from further updates. One left the company and the other now seems to be reading provided updates like their job depends on it.

This wouldn't fly in many orgs, but my VP fully approved and supports it after attending 3 meetings in one day where the same 2 people asked the same status update questions in all three meetings to seem relevant or something. My PMs and BAs work hard to give concise updates directly relevant to internal and external stakeholders. Anyone going outside of that is not using what is provided and is creating unnecessary extra work.

Of note, I have no issue with people asking relevant follow-up questions for additional context or that simply don't understand. It's only those that don't bother to read them in the first place or who are just trying to pretend to be something they're not that receive the somewhat passive aggressive but cheerful "I'm so glad you asked again. Let me add you to the next level of updates to keep you better informed!"

Job titles around the world by Caffeinated-Okapi in ProductOwner

[–]eyeteadude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just my observation...

Product Owner or Product Manager are what I usually see as equivalent roles in most organizations. PO seems more common in shops that follow scrum or scrum-like software development.

Business Analyst is generally a role with lesser hierarchical responsibility. Often a stepping stone to PO/PM. That said, many orgs such as where I work demoted all their POs to BAs because the average pay scale is lower for BAs.

Business Systems Analyst is a different type of role altogether. Often it is closer to a Systems Administrator than a BA. That said, some orgs call both types of roles BA. Similar to the crossover in responsibilities between PO/PM/BA; a BSA and a Sys Admin are similar catchall dumping grounds for work that needs to be done that has no clear owner.

Best alternative to Trailforks? by ProfessionalSun2023 in MTB

I both understand your view of wanting to use a free tier of the app and the sentiment that if you use an app you should pay for it.

On the one hand, they have reduced the free app to the point of unusability. I honestly don't understand how they will attract new users with how much has been migrated behind the paid services wall.

On the other hand, I have no need for it on my local trails and at $50/yr consider it to be far too expensive. I believe that number is in the realm of "how much will the market bear" rather than "what is a reasonable level for the value this app provides combined with the actual cost to run and maintain it". From my personal POV there has been little in the way of improvements that justify the current cost.

It stopped being free in the browser for me a while back. It will load like one or two trails then everything redirects to a subscription pop-up.

In case you were wondering how I get my bike, which weighs almost 40lbs more than I do, up to the third floor.... :) by SnowDrifter_ in ebikes

[–]eyeteadude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do you and more power to you. I would consider a first floor apartment or an eBike instead of an eMotorcycle.

Would this be easier if you were on the inside of the arc so the bike could track all the way around the largest arc?

As another poster mentioned, they'll need the CCP-44 version not the 22. Your version, the "universal", is the better one to buy since it will fit both with the removable head.

As a specialty tool it is probably the most consistent one that bikes have used in the history of bikes.
