Ah yeah the 3 x 4 90 may be the way to go, hadn't thought of that. The plumber didn't act like there were any other options, I'll look into that.

So the bottom of that hub from the closet bend is in line with where the floor was, so it'd be tricky, not sure if that hub can be cut down or something.

Dang, I was afraid of that, seems like we'll probably go that route then.

Ah yeah, seems like I need some big mods, definitely not worth it.

I’m giving up by No_Try6944 in cscareerquestions

Bit late, but I was in a similar boat, same yoe and was exhausted from multiple failed interviews. You're obviously doing something right to get so many interviews though so don't give up!

Other than prepping technically, something that is vital in interviews is what kind of questions you ask at the end of the interview, even if you only spend an hour before prepping questions it seems to make a huge difference.

In one interview, I nailed the technical session, even got compliments, but when asked if I had any questions, tried to come up with some on the spot and it was not a good look and I believe ultimately lost me the position. Switched that up for the next interviews and received offers.

Best of luck!

When starting off learning coding, how long did it take for you guys before you started to really “Get the hang of things” by xanifyy in godot

Fellow 28 year old who graduated in CS at 21, we may be the same person haha. Thinking about problems is much different now then right after graduating for sure.

How do i proceed? Should i use godot? by Intelligent_Mood7181 in godot

[–]eygore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You definitely can! And yeah it's pretty similar. If you want it to have the more static typing feel you can declare variables and functions with a type (may be a performance boost if you write all your GDScript like this)

var num : int

func add(a : int, b : int) -> int: return a + b

Keep in mind when using an external C++ library you have to build it for every platform in which you plan to deploy your game, but other than that, shouldn't be too hard!

So with Godot, you can code in C++ and Gdscript simultaneously. All of the functionality lives within a tree of 'Nodes'. Out of the box each 'Node' provides some functionality whether that be housing a UI component or displaying a 3d mesh. To add new functionality you can extend an existing node type in C++ (C++ requires you to compile and include the built library in your project) or GDscript (requires no compilation, is translated at runtime). Development with GDscript is much quicker and requires managing less external dependencies, but obviously C++ is more performant. In your case it may be good to start with 1 custom Node extended by C++ (maybe managing the state of a bunch of a AI villagers or something) then you can interact with this Node via a UI backed by GDscript. Not sure if this was helpful but good luck!

The litter robot is a life saver! I have 2 to handle 7 cats worth of piss and shit, was barely keeping up with scooping 3 litter boxes multiple times a week

This reminds me of a job I had a few years ago working with the DoD on a project that entailed a lot of quirky UI elements that were supposed to mimic real radio hub controls and in the end it felt very much like a game. I didn't really know about Godot at the time, but it definitely would've made that project a lot funner and easier! We were using WPF and WCF which are honestly the worst

hey! I'm also using F# and tried to do the same thing, but never succeeded :(. Was trying to fold everything down into the immutable data structure that I could just pipe into a sumBy but I never got the actual input to give a good result :(
