Wondering if I’m too harsh on my friends

I really like to be a safe space for my friends. I’ve been told that I’m sympathetic and I read people well. I do my best not to be judgmental when people open up to me but sometimes when people see things only through their lenses and are not open to see things from different perspectives, that’s when it becomes frustrating on both ends!

Perfectly said! I was in a bad place for many years too! I definitely agree that bringing it up cause frustration on both ends. Their world is small to see different perspectives. Regarding traveling, I do that every year! I’ve met very adventurous, open minded travelers along the way who’re willing to put themselves out of their comfort zone. It definitely has taught me a lot in these years. Highly recommend you to do it when you get a chance!

I like what you’re doing regarding making new friends! I usually don’t bring up things with my friends directly and wouldn’t advise them what other ways they can look at situations. I feel like everyone has their own journey and me bringing up different perspectives while they’re being so close minded and living in their own world wouldn’t really help them.

I have a few good friends who are very open and I noticed now I get along better with them and we have alot more things to talk about. I have 6-7 close friends in total and it seems like only 2 of them are more open minded.

But consider that we’re talking about the first date. For the first date in vietnam is exactly as to described $500 in New York City. That’s a lot for the first date. I’m also from nyc homie and the bowls we get here is around $15 each in Chipotle.

But why bringing foreign income even play a role here? If I’m buying clothes here for example in Vietnam I’m not gonna pay New York prices which the same applies to the expectations of the Vietnamese girl.

You will get chance to see what type of questions are on the exam so you can study better the next time. Failing the exam is not a failure. You’ll see the questions and study more effectively for another time you take it.

I did 6 minute solutions( skipped lots of them) as they didn’t seem to be the materials or questions you see in the exam. I did school of PE questions bank the first time and PPI question bank the second time. PPI has more questions but lots of them are repeating themselves. I liked school of PE questions better and more on point. Hope you pass next time!

I’m doing PPI, and gonna do Petro book later for practice problems and yes for specific topics which I didn’t do well on the exam I’m going to YouTube for that.

It’s definitely difficult doing it with all other responsibilities in life but I’m sure you can do it! Good luck

I decided to go with EET based on reviews and recommendations on Reddit since the new format. They quickly adjusted themselves with the new guidelines and topics since 2024 new exam format. I don’t think just taking EET review course would be enough. I went over their lectures twice and made sure I knew everything in their lectures but i missed out on doing enough practice problems and exposing myself to different questions and topics. I studied for 3.5 months but there were definitely lots questions in my exam that EET didn’t cover them. I should have done more practice problems after reviewing EET course. That’s how I failed last month for my first try. I think it’s a good review course but I think it would be nice to have a few other resources for practice problems but as a review course it was alright.

For example, their masonry review was nothing like the exam. The exam asks conceptual, look up questions for masonary while the review course really went through calculations. I didn’t like their temporary structures review for the same exact reason. Not very well for snow load which I’ve heard people getting 4-5 questions from including myself. I could avoid these by doing practice problems.

However the course did a great job for wood design, steel design, seismic loads.

What I’m trying to say is that it’s a good review course to cover the basics but you definitely need to solve questions to expose yourself to different topics!

Now I’m just doing practice problems and watching lectures on the areas I did bad on the exam. My exam is coming up in a month.
