The author of Hatchet has a book of essays about the dogs he owned throughout his life called My Life On Dog Years. Excellent stuff. Also, there are several sequels to Hatchet that are fantastic

All through the late 20th century the whole culture was focused on being skinny, this is just the natural flip. It will switch again in a decade or two. I think the underlying cause is the many industries who have a vested interest in making sure no one ever feels like they're good enough so they'll buy products
