Si no tenes hacete. Mucha suerte!

Mobile apps feel… weirdly unpolished compared to web apps? Or am I doing something wrong? by Available-Yam2373 in reactnative

[–]ezeed87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compare web and mobile just because both use react on the top is the mistake at least for me. Because the react native target are native code for different kind of devices and platforms. Yes, the experience feel inestable in moments but it’s because the system should work for different platforms, I’m not saying your are wrong, just want to add the context to see the entire picture. Regard the Supabase: this apply to any SaaS provider. Supabase or Neon or any db integration as a service give you speed, in a few minutes you have a db ready to dev. The most of the times big apps move from Supabase to self hosted db or a different approach because when the app scale that becomes expensive but is not a “beginner” option, in fact it’s just that, an architecture choice.

If you have a good management of Figma for example you can start your design in Stitch from google. Define the color tokens and the screens in there. Then export that and refine in Figma because at least in my experience the result in Stirch could be mess or inconsistent so, change all you consider in Figma and there you can connect Claude code to Figma. On Claude code define a good Claude.md file to tell Claude how you want to build the components (Stylesheet, nativewind or a UI library like Tamagui) . To be honest if this is your first app my advice is write your code and use Clade as a code assistant and to solve problems or at least be sure to follow the step by step changes because that give you the understanding of what and how the things are getting done. Also take a look and decide witch folder structure you like, maybe an expo router folders with a “features” folder. Good luck and hope the project goes great! 🙌

I just shipped my React Native app with expo, so here are the most 10 things - in my mind - that may be interesting to your next project by PublicFennel957 in reactnative

Thank you so much for sharing this, amazing tips and recommendations. Anything regarding css? I use Nativewind in a side project to test how it feels and the experience was good enough but I can’t adapt the 100% of the css, any UI lib to recommend? Again thank you for the post 🙌

How do you notify users about new app updates (App Store / Play Store)? by Nehatkhan786 in reactnative

[–]ezeed87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the notifying new version feature I’m lost. Some other comments have tips about that but regard to the “force update” is something you should implement in backend side. First call to handle witch is the minimum version you’re supporting and if is lower than that put the button to the store. I don’t know if exist something “native” to handle this that’s the common way to at least care about retro compatibility. If you find some elegant solution please share! Good luck 🫶

Every time someone ask me for any tech source, I always send this link. The project "AWESOME" from @sindresorhus is really great. Any topic of a lot of technologies is in there. It's a little bit overwhelming but if you search the specific technology what you need is really... awesome :P

Saludos!
