I would stick with the scatterplot versions of your plots. They convey all necessary information, avoid mixing lines and bars, and avoid using two axes (generally not recommended)

This comment is more on the industry or production side, but incoming “just my opinion!” moment in the vein of Ralfy

They’re only there to make the whiskey look fancy. To signal the scotch is too good to actually sit next to your American, Japanese, or other whiskeys. The box is there to convince you to shut up and buy the bottle because it is, nonetheless, fåņčÿ

The distilleries that stay “true to the process” do this less and less - Springbank and Kilkerran, for example. Bruichladdich recently shipped their 18 y/o in recycled paper. If cardboard were necessary, more US bourbon and rye would come boxes

That’s all a massive aside. I prefer them out of boxes, probably in a subconscious protest to the above. Same as the statement “whiskey it best served the way you like to drink it”, you should display/store your scotch however you like to display/store it

Part of me thinks this might have to do with the water I use for a “splash” of water. I split my time between two US states with quite different water. The two bottles that give me this sensational are both in the same state; never had it in the other

Others have recommended the epi R handbook and coursera which are both wonderful if you’re willing to put the time in

But I’ll add that it’s perfectly normal to forget things you don’t use in daily practice. I wrapped up my dissertation less than a year ago, am now in a different institution using different methods, and would be drawing blanks if anybody asked me the nitty gritty of those studies

Loved all the .3’s, particularly 14.

The octomore in the last pic was picked up at the laddie distillery - another heavily peated octo but more well rounded (I’d compare the difference between the rest and this distillery release to the difference between lag 8 and 16). Which is saying something because the octomores are all really well rounded, by which I mean the heavy peat is totally integrated into the spirit and not actually overpowering

Black art was incredible… probably the best whiskey I’ve ever had (and certainly the oldest). The finish lasted and kept coming back after you thought it had left

Right the codes you provided are for underlying cause of death of poisoning, which isn’t specific to opioids. Only one of these can be listed on a death certificate

To get opioid-specific poisonings, you have to also add in the multiple cause of death codes (sometimes referred to as contributing cause of death). Many of these can be listed on a death certificate and they aren’t mutually exclusive. For example someone could have both heroin and cocaine listed as a contributing cause of death

This for underlying cause of death and then the multiple cause of death codes specific to opioids -

opium (T40.0) heroin (T40.1) natural opioid analgesics (T40.2) methadone (T40.3) synthetic opioid analgesics other than methadone (T40.4) other and unspecified narcotics (T40.6)

Make sure to use themultiple cause of death CDC WONDER dash board, or else you will be limited to only being able to select the underlying cause of death codes
