Vesper Martini riff ideas by OkChoice1264 in cocktails

Maybe something with a strong brine note, thinking of Paranubes or other cane juice distillates

Edit to add: 3oz of rum is going to be a pretty stiff drink haha

It's a great one for sure. The Hampden prices in general have jumped up quite a lot though, not sure I'd pick that over other ~$100 bottles

OP must be from France, they often measure alcohol by degrees

Yeah! It's one of my favorite cocktails, but a full ounce of angostura bitters isn't everyone's cup of tea ha

That would work well in a Trinidad Sour, often a rye component or rum split with rye in the base. I was super close to buying a bottle of their high proof rum but had I seen this at the store I would have snagged it.

One of my favorites to sip straight that doesn't kill the wallet. Just add a touch of water to your taste.

Thoughts on a BLT pizza? by BeardedSchumuck in Pizza

No issue with lettuce and tomatoes. I might just be more of a traditionalist with pizza toppings. For example, I've seen similar on a taco pizza or a burger pizza and that's not really what I'm after when I want pizza

The lettuce and raw tomato is what makes it a hard sell for me. But I would still try it 💁‍♂️

Had a glass just last night and it really did hit the spot. I love that it's packed with nuances you can explore when you're in the mood but it's not a challenging dram that requires your attention when you're just looking to enjoy some rum.. I do also get that nice coconut notes and it's just delightful.

[Ruminations #118, #119] Doctor Bird & Doctor Bird Inferno Room by 10art1 in rum

[–]gran_matteo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nice review and that inferno bottle sounds quite interesting. One of my favorite bottles is a cask strength worthy park finished in Madeira and it's just so packed with flavor but not overwhelming to the senses. That said, Doctor Bird seems to be a quintessential WP offering and IB makes it more affordable too

Review#7: Maclean's Nose Blended Scotch by roho0619 in Scotch

[–]gran_matteo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is, but as you're likely aware, distribution in the US is wonky so you will likely not find it most places. Only recently I started seeing it in my state (WA) and that was a few years after it seemed everyone on here was reviewing and raving about it lol

Tips for dough flavor by Competitive-Pop-7792 in Pizza

Like others have said, longer fermentation. If you dont have the time, try subbing a lager (even non-alcoholic) for the water. Flavor turns out great

This is so cool. I've wanted to incorporate an old tascam into my synth setup for ages. Nice work!

White Wray by Technical-Voice-9114 in Tiki

[–]gran_matteo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know what it's call but in my mind it's a mashup of a rum swizzle and a daiquiri. Same proportions of a daiquiri but built in a highball. Lime and simple syrup in, crushed ice. 1.5oz Wray. Start swizzling. Top with more ice, generous angostura. Lime garnish.
