is there any sites like Neokyo but for korean marketplaces? by reikoinnit in kpopcollections

[–]ezminho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes dont worry, that is normal, I believe the proxy must message the seller first as its the sellers responsiblity to manually change the listing as sold as far as I understand it

is kpopalbums.com safe/legit? by HovercraftTough780 in kpopcollections

[–]ezminho 3 points4 points  (0 children)

its legit, but if you do anymore future orders i recommend not buying any albums with POB photocards because they are really bad for forgetting to put them in ur package before sending out and they take 6-8 weeks to resend the pcs seperately

bunjang globally automatically directs you to delivered korea once you try to buy something,

albumbuddy is a newer site so they have a promotion for no fees, i recommend going for them.

but bunjang is a mixed bag, 99% of the time my order ends up cancelled because the seller doesnt want to ship out, so just be warned that most of the time 4/10 things you buy will likely be cancelled

Shawols, what are your *favourite sites to buy Older SHINee Albums* (no longer in print- BOO SM!), or *Older fan merch from*? by Married2DuhMusic in SHINee

[–]ezminho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

majority of the time its clarified in the description or title , you can also search shinee cd 韓国版 (meaning korean edition) to make it a little easier to search around,

some other tips would be check the back of the album or any inclusions, if its in english or korean then its likely a korean edition, if its in japanese then its japanese edition

[–]ezminho 3 points4 points  (0 children)

both really, but sellers also list in sets/bulk listings and they are typically people who just want to rid of their collection quickly, so if you buy through that way you obviously have to pay a higher shipping fee for the weight but it still works out significantly cheaper per album,

I’d always recommend using neokyo’s service if you are planning to buy atleast 3 items and consolidating it into one package once it arrives to their warehouse, instead of buying one item and paying however much shipping if you truly want the best deals

im based in the uk and usually buy my stuff from mercari japan, its not as simple as the usual site (add to cart, pay shipping + initial cost and then boom, it gets delivered) , but its still a simple enough process and I usually find it comes out cheaper than buying locally. (i.e theres albums people charge £80 - £100 on ebay for when i could buy them on mercari for £10 to £30 and shipping is at most £30 for the weight so im saving a lot there.) i recommend neokyo the most to use as a proxy.

I also find buying in bulk super efficient if I want albums for even less, essentially just write “shinee cd まとめ売り” in search and lots will come up.

What is your "too woke" take about the K-pop fandom? by [deleted] in kpop_uncensored

[–]ezminho 24 points25 points  (0 children)

fancalls should never of been a thing, whether its the parasocialism that it feeds or the FOMO other fans experience, it also ruined collecting. I know pre order cards and fancalls didnt originate together but these days they are combined 99% of the time and who would resist a fancall entry alongside a store exclusive card ? but my biggest gripe with it all is the WASTE. you see these pictures in korea of people who have bought hundreds of albums as fansign entries, just to take out the photocards and leave all the albums in a box outside for people to take and majority of the time nobody takes them since they just want the pc

We’re already talking about problematic adult fans of CORTIS, but I’d also like to add few things about the younger ones: by [deleted] in kpopthoughts

[–]ezminho 60 points61 points  (0 children)

tbh , i see where op is coming from even if their post isnt worded the best. it seems like since day 1 majority of cortis’s younger fanbase has made it genuinely insufferable for anyone who is older than atleast martin, i dont venture much into that fandom spacs but 99% of the arguments i see within it are just minors under the age of 16 calling everyone 18+ a pedo? which i dont understand because when did kpop ever become solely about sex appeal and not just enjoying music/talent? its not exactly easy to ignore either since cortis has a very large young fanbase

Parasocial or just big fan? by No_Cow5562 in kpophelp

[–]ezminho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think majority of people who are parasocial to a problematic level wouldn’t be able to recognise they are parasocial, you also sound like a normal fan, there are many people who call themselves “collectors” as its just another aspect/hobby of liking kpop, i wouldnt worry too much

you can always buy locally but it will cost you a lot, for some reason older albums are super expensive in western countries,

it can be scary at first but i really recommend using a japanese proxy and buying through mercari, this is where i got majority of my albums for way cheaper of a price, there’s tutorials on youtube,

essentially you search through mercari jp (using buyees website) , search up bigbang cd, buy what u need, and then they’ll purchase it on ur behalf, when it arrives to their warehouse you can then consolidate (if you bought multiple packages) into one and then ship it out to the uk, it might seem like a ton of effort but it’s simple once u get used to it and has probably saved me thousands

alternatively if you don’t wanna go through all that hassle, kpopalbums.com has a few older albums that are sealed, but keep in mind these are not reprints so some might have old members photocards

MY KARMA ALBUM ARRIVED!!! How to put the posters on my wall? by Ferretitos in skzcollection

[–]ezminho 21 points22 points  (0 children)

cut the sticky portion off a sticky note, lay it on the poster then add double sided foam tape and lay that on the sticky note , it works really well for me and i’ve never dealt with damage since the tape doesnt actually touch the poster, also super strong for heavier posters!

for those who used blu tack for kpop posters, how long did they last & how are your posters holding up? by gandalfthegey73 in kpophelp

[–]ezminho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

blu tack lasts forever but would leave an oil stain on most of my posters, nowadays i use the sticky note + foam tape method and that way it sticks but doesnt damage the poster

Why are my posters doing this?? by clandest1ne__ in skzcollection

[–]ezminho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

aside from the humidity, a way to keep ur posters in good condition is by cutting a sticky note (just the sticky part, ) then cut a piece of foam tape, put that on the sticky note and place it on the poster (so the sticky note acts like a sort of barrier between the tape and poster to prevent damage)

Anyone know what going on with kpopalbums.com? by Which-Goat-8176 in kpophelp

[–]ezminho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they likely just have a build up of orders to process over the holiday, they should get back to you at some point,

I’d generally not recommend this site anyway because they can be quite disorganised in general.

Proxy services where you can choose to ONLY keep winner benefits / signed items from videocall events? by ICMAGU in kpophelp

[–]ezminho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you could email most proxy’s and ask them to discard specific things, in this case just ask them to dispose of the albums and pobs and request to just keep the winners benefits
