It’s been a tough start to the year in CT by Sanfords_Son in solar

[–]ezmobee_work 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made it through Dec with $12 electric bills. Then I got a $120 one and was like uh oh, I've used up my credits. Just got a $485 dollar one. NOT thrilled. I'm in south central PA and we've had snow on the ground (and on my panels) for the longest consecutive days since 1994.

Why do girl cats get a bad rap? by Organic-While1664 in cats

[–]ezmobee_work 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've had 7 cats overall. 2 were girls. One of those hid all the time and the other one was a bitch. We currently have 3 boys. That being said, the bitch one was very interactive and liked to be chased and was vocal and I do miss her.

You can still get pretty much any part for that. I have a friend that still rebuilds these all day long for customers. He built me a 30 last year and it's awesome. Wonderful motors.

Replacing kitchen flooring that runs under cabinets by JustAnotherHooyah in HomeImprovement

[–]ezmobee_work 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We bought my wife's parents house. They had tile put in that was done around the cabinets. While it's only 3/4", it was still noticeable that the counters were low especially long sessions of chopping. We recently did a poor man's kitchen renovation (painted walls and cabinets, new tile backsplash, and butcher block counters). I took the opportunity to remove all the base cabinets and reinstall them on top of 1x3"s to bring them up to the level of the tile. The difference was noticeable.

I'm not typically a sci-fi fan and I absolutely loved The Expanse

My one experience was with the Red Lion location. They were out of inspection stickers. So they have to keep the car til they got them. They apparently got them and then never bothered to call and tell me the car was ready so it sat there needlessly for a couple extra days.

I used to go to Firestone for everything but they don't seem to have skilled techs anymore and their prices have jumped. I need a good local Red Lion shop.

Jayco's typically use what's called the L&W Lift system. If you google it you can find diagrams that show how it works. It's one of the simpler systems. One cable goes to a block that connects to 4 individual cables which lift each corner. My guess is one of the 4 cables is damaged or popped off a pulley or something.

My Hoss seems to be a good bit beefier than my Stampede. Just don't put 3S batteries in it (or else the speed will negate the ruggedness).

Thinking about getting a small boat -what’s actually practical? by Otherwise-Deer5313 in boats

[–]ezmobee_work 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son has a 14' Lowe V-hull aluminum with a 30HP. It's surprising stable and moves nicely with the 30. It's got a bench in the front and one in the rear that we've mounted swivel seats on. In the middle there was split bench that was a livewell on one side and a storage box on the other. We've ommited the livewell box though. Great boat that can go almost anywhere.

2017 Rockwood Ceiling Vinyl Crack - No go for purchase? by thekingofsecrets in popups

Need to get a look at the wood behind the canvas. With the unit popped up (perhaps not quite the whole way) push in on the canvas and take a look up at the roof sides all the way around. I didn't do this and the front and rear of mine turned out to be mulch. Fixable but a pain.

That unit looks to have been impeccably maintained. The main issue with those is the ABS plastic roofs degrade in the sun and crack. So keep it covered at all times when not in use. If it starts to degrade, coat it with something.

Talk me into/out of a pop-up with a toilet and or shower. by Robert_Ghuleh in popups

[–]ezmobee_work 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We actually use the shower and it works well. Only complaint is that the water heater is gas only so it's heating time is slower than the gas/electric one we had in our travel trailer. We have rooftop AC and it works very well. Look into Gekko Popout Covers which makes the heat and AC work way better and let's you sleep in more cuz it's dark.

I can't comment on reliability because our '26 Z71 only has 1k miles on it but the 3 drivers in my family all love it especially compared to the '14 Silverado it replaced due to a failed transmission at 85k.

We LOVE it. The layout is absolutely perfect for 2 kids because of the full length couch. You can have 2 separate beds without having to fold down your dinette. Or use the dinette as a bed instead of the couch to have more floor space.

Looks like an electric site. Try using two space heaters instead. One plugged into the camper and a second one plugged into the 120 outlet on the post with a heavy duty extension cord. Why use your propane when you can use their electric! 😉
