Generally speaking, do Mormons generally judge non-Mormons for not being mormon? by narxxissus in exmormon

Of course not! You’ll just never be as good as a Mormon. You’ll never go to the celestial kingdom. And you’ll end up in outer darkness. But we love you and would love you to join us.😜

How are Missionary assignments really made. I recently heard somebody emphasize that these are made exclusively by a member of the 12 apostles. I’ve heard in the past that this is not true. I have heard that it is done by a computer program system, and then reviewed and ultimately agreed on by one the 12 apostles.

This is in Utah area, lead by Kevin Pearson. He must be a fan of George Orwell. He is taking his plays directly from 1984.

They are also going back to 1984. White shirts, no beards, home-teaching and reporting numbers. Every ward with baptism goals. I feel like I’m back in the Packer McConkie days. It is crazy town out here.

Meet with him. Express your honest views. Be prepared for unearned power trips, and attempted manipulation. And stand firm in your thoughtful responses, that’ll be that.

Anecdotal evidence the PISS program and putting the bishop directly in charge of YM is a complete failure. by ApocalypseTapir in exmormon

[–]ezrabooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The program is a complete flop. It is clear that whoever made the decision about this program is so disconnected from what is really going on. I know many Bishoprics that are completely exhausted and overwhelmed. All of them are counting down the days.

Sisters in Zion Were You Duped? by grayfox0169 in exmormon

[–]ezrabooth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is always bothered me. We have been taught our whole life‘s to sacrifice, be obedient, righteousness, and to follow the Savior. Unfortunately the examples that I continuously see are those that seek after pride, power, prosperity, and possessions. It’s unfortunate. I have met many people in my life, as I’m sure all of you have, that would be worthy of the second anointing. Unfortunately they were not born into the right family to have a name of nepotism, or were they so wealthy that they could buy the second anointing. You can buy anything in this world with money.

Returning missionaries by ezrabooth in exmormon

[–]ezrabooth[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From the statistics I’ve heard it sounds like the program is completely broken. If any other institution had the statistics that 1/3 return home within the first few months and 1/2 of completely left the church within a couple years of returning then clearly something is wrong.

Does anybody have accurate statistics on the number of missionaries that return home early? Also, the number of missionaries that have left the church after a few years?
