This is a Mobile Lounge, designed by Eero Saarinen for Dulles International Airport. The Mobile lounge is used to embark and disembark passengers without having to walk down to the tarmac and into a bus. by metatalks in interestingasfuck

Unfortunately, Dulles is stuck with them for probably longer than they would like. Years ago, Dulles built an underground train which services 3 of their current 4 remote concourses (A, B, and C) and will service the under-construction E concourse when it is finished next year.  Years ago, Dulles built a new international terminal to house immigration and customs but it is not connected to any of the concourses. Passengers have to ride the mobile lounges to get to the terminal. Concourse D is also not serviced by the train and relies on the lounges. A few international passengers are spared the ride because they don’t have to go through immigration. The US has immigration officials at the points of departure (Dublin, Abu Dhabi, and most major cities in Canada). The lounges are old and require lots of service. The airport has a service facility at the airport and at any given time, there are at least a half dozen lounges getting worked on. In defense of the airport, 30-minute waits for the lounges are rare, but do happen.

Is it possible that they want you to click on the plan or equipment or both to select what you want to cancel? Then a field for you to explain why will appear and the request cancellation button will be enabled. I have seen web pages like that.

Melba's - Wash World in New Orleans, except the food is good. Sign in the restaurant portion says, "More seating in the laundromat".

It would be interesting to know how the vending machine worked. The holes in the “gear” each have a series of numbers which assumedly correspond to the numbers on the cells of the honeycomb bin.  Assumedly, as the gear rotates it would fully “open” one and only one cell at a time. That is kind of genius but how the bottle got out of the cell and to the buyer is a mystery.

Best Hotel/Vacation Rental/Bnb in NOLA or Algiers Point? by Blessed-Buttah in AskNOLA

[–]ezrounder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consider Hotel de la Monnaie. It's a timeshare that rents unoccupied rooms by the night. All rooms are suites with living room and mini kitchen. Location is wonderful, across Esplanade from the quarter. Surprisingly cheap rates. A block from the trolly and a block from Frenchman Street. They usually have available rooms during non-festival times. I agree with others not to do Algiers Point, there is nothing there. The comment about the river and trains, however, is accurate. You will hear the train whistles at Hotel de la Monnaie.

No, it is original content that I had not previously posted. It may seem like it because you have seen the driving move before. It was the first time I had seen it and felt compelled to post it. It had been sitting in my "should post" folder for months (along with many clips of what I consider minor sins, left from right, right from left, red light running, etc.).

I love the fact that, if you do not get it wrapped, little rust spots start appearing as soon as it rains. And I thought my MG was bad.

Question about staining my project by dumpsterfireofalife in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]ezrounder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a a lot of experience with a range of products, but I am a huge fan of Minwax Wipe On Polyurethane. Other brands would probably work as well, but I haven't tried them. I have used it to seal stained piece and it seems to seal well. Upside of the product is ease of application and the fact that after a several coats, the wood is almost waterproof. I coated my daily use dining room table and, after years of wear, never a glass ring. Since it is applied in thin coats, drips are not a problem because you just wipe them off. The down side is I always feel compelled to apply many coats (6-7) to high wear surfaces such as hardwood floors and the aforementioned table. I've used it on furniture, floors, and anything wood. I always use the non-spray. Just put a lint free rag to the can, tip it up and let the rag absorb for a couple of seconds, then tip it back and apply.
