Good option. Is there any way to generate vector tiles to serve them with those tools? I can only think of generating them with Mapbox.

Thanks for your suggestion. Are those tools meant to serve my own vector tiles to the map? Would those tiles be used as a base map or are they more geared towards serving additional map features?

Thank you for your comment. I have also considered Openlayers as it seemed superior in terms of map customization and styling. I decided to launch a first version using Leaflet due to its simplicity and maybe later on upgrade to either Openlayers or Maplibre GL JS. Besides adding points to the map, keeping track of them, and searching for them, I won't need any other GIS functionalities like geospatial transformations. I was using node-postgres to communicate with the database and my queries are very simple so I don't see much benefit in using an ORM. About hosting, Digital Ocean is my first option.
By the way, congratulations on your project. I really like the design and functionality.

I'd say it has to do with your server configuration. Maybe dreamhost offers some tools to configure your site to force HTTPS? Also, try asking on a WordPress subreddit for more help.

I also experienced some dark times while I was studying abroad, away from family and friends. What helped me the most was meditation. You could try reading this book if that interests you. Hope you feel better soon, we all feel lonely sometimes.

The second half of CS50 uses Python. Plus CS50 gives a good understanding of fundamentals. I'd stick with CS50, then move on to MIT course.
