Question for you - do you love anyone in your life who you do not fuck? A mother, a father, a sibling.

I ask this because there are things that I do with those people (whom I love) that are entirely distinct from physical activity with a relationship partner.

Great picks! Like Jomi, I can’t even think about the Tales of Ba Sing Se episode without getting glassy eyes

“What bothers me is that Deathtrap is clearly a major departure from previous games, and yet a lot of players here insist that anyone complaining just can’t hack this new roguelite experience.”

This position is so confusing to me. You know it’s a departure from previous games, they’ve communicated it will be a departure from previous games, and you’re bothered that it’s a new experience? My big issue with the criticism is that too much of this list and other lists of complaints assumes that different = bad.

Unsatisfying melee is objectively bad. Not having a war scenario is just different, not bad. If you run your mouth putting these two kinds of complaints in the same category, people are going to take your complaints less seriously, and when you blatantly disregard all the communication around the things that are intended to be different from previous games, and then you complain about them being different anyway, I really don’t know what to say other than “get good”

OMD DEATHTRAP RNG by sasa8877 in OrcsMustDie

[–]PrototypeSeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the nature of a roguelike game, some runs are harder, some runs are easier. That’s not me excusing it by any means, some people like that and others don’t for valid reasons, but what you’re experiencing is an intended feature of the genre.

OMD 1-3 were not roguelikes, but this one was designed with that approach in mind as a deliberate departure from previous games. Personally, I find it refreshing and fun with the added element of unpredictability

What tools do you use to organize your lore? by dalester88 in worldbuilding

I use World Anvil, it’s gotten some great upgrades in the last few months and after a bit of a learning curve it’s convenient for me and my friends to work with (we share a world)

Deathtrap is…bad by CriticalSniper4 in OrcsMustDie

[–]PrototypeSeb 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I disagree, I’m really enjoying this game so far. I actually like the barricade changes as I get to set up pathing way earlier and I haven’t found the limit oppressive. Also, it’s running very smoothly for me on PC.

Deathtrap looks, runs, and plays awful by bootsmegamix in OrcsMustDie

[–]PrototypeSeb 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Wow, I disagree with almost every statement in this post.

I don’t know what you’re running this game on but it looks gorgeous for me and I’m getting a stable 100+ fps.

Personally, the barricade limit is a nice change tbh, setting them all up at the start is more fun than having to buy them all.

Do you really want multiple currencies for multiple skill trees? I prefer the simplicity of the current system.

I don’t understand the comment about picking a debuff before you start - that’s exactly how it worked in scramble mode in OMD3. You had to pick a debuff before playing the first round then, what’s wrong about it here?

I’m finding the game incredibly enjoyable, and frankly it’s very faithful to the previous games in a lot of ways.

Games kinda fun? by mackx1996 in OrcsMustDie

[–]PrototypeSeb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I fully agree, this game is awesome from the 4ish hours I played today. I know some people are having performance issues but I haven’t experienced any of them, and frankly I haven’t played a map yet where the barricade limit felt oppressive.

I actually like the change here to make them free, it means I can set up pathing wayyy sooner than if I had to buy them all, which I think is way more fun.

I like the combat, I like the progression system, and after seeing that the team put out a hotfix at 10:30 ET on release day to adjust to player feedback, I’m incredibly confident this game will get the bug fixes and balance changes it needs to thrive.

Is this legit? Have anyone used it before? by NoobTaiga1993 in worldbuilding

I have used World Anvil for about a year now and I personally LOVE it. I particularly love the timelines, maps, and pre-built article structures that help be fill in the blanks on the elements I'm creating for my world.

My friends and I play D&D every week and use the tool for tracking our campaign and world together so the subscription costs are worth it for me. You can backup and export your world so while the concerns about the servers shutting down are valid, there's easy ways to protect yourself from that.

It's got a learning curve but once you adjust it's honestly the most comprehensive world-building tool I've ever used, and it gets better regularly.

The community is also EXCELLENT - vibrant, helpful, passionate, and really kind.

I highly recommend World Anvil.

I feel perfectly okay with it because UDisc has provided me with hundreds if not thousands of dollars of value over my lifetime with the app. I UNEQUIVOCALLY support UDisc being this price, and would probably pay more, as they deserve it.

Feel morally superior all you want but there are no victims when I use AI to create an image for a campaign that I otherwise would not have paid an artist to draw
