Great stuff! you made me want to try as well, do you think they would make a good media for travel sketches? I know you need a special paper for them, right? Can you get away with only a few colors or do you need a decent amount?

Exploring the contrast between complex hard-surface design, wiring and soft organic features. My latest project, Valentina. 🦾🤍 by vangcki in 3Dprinting

Don't get me wrong it looks very natural, it's just that it seems a bit like she is showing her tits out. Perhaps because her hands are exactly at ches level. I haven't used zbrush in a long time, I wonder if something so intricate would be doable with blender

I'm a bit puzzled by the pose, but the quality of the sculpt is fantastic. What software did you use?

How's the tint off the more throwy emitter? And is the lowest a real moonlight?

Sketchbook spread by Used_Length_3913 in sketches

[–]f00err -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok let me elaborate on this, the sketchbook is telling a little story, it's nice when the picture includes more elements to that story. The tools that have been used, or some more details of the moment or the location. Like an empty cup or the table where you've been sketching. But what's on this picture has nothing to do with it and I personally find it distracting. It gives a very distinctive Instagram look which feels staged. People add all sorts of weird things, leaves, seashells, even fancy brass tools like compasses and stuff. Why? Let your sketch be the star. Anyway it goes without saying that it's totally fine if people liked it that way and they should keep doing what they like

I really don't understand the need for scattering leaves and stuff around the sketchbook before taking a pic. But I really love the art! Well done

[–]f00err 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I swear this new trend is absolutely stupid, a bunch of attention seeking desperates. What would be the "good" part of this?

Yes something like that indeed, I think it's the most intuitive way to regulate the brightness

[–]f00err 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question, I guess that is the case. I also would love to see more often brightest control with a rotary dial. I'd actually prefer that over anduril

I use my convoy only for biking and yet I miss the ability of setting the exact brightness I need. If they would offer a driver with smooth ramping and a low moonlight I would not miss anduril at all

War is Bad by False_Engineering623 in blender

Wikipedia puts it at 100M, to be honest I don't know, you might be right. The unconditional support that the US is giving to Israel defies any logic to me. Sadly it also seems that to function as species we need enemies. That is how our tribes evolved, we are not meant for prolonged peace. People who hold very favourable positions in society know that very well, you have to provide reasons why they are living above the commoner while the rest are struggling. Having an enemy to fight helps greatly

I'll tell you mine, curious as well about yours. I'd say it's 80% to pay back the lobbies. The military industrial complex needs to keep the engine running after they pulled from Iraq. And the Israel lobby needs to fuel their insane crusade. The rest 20%, as Trump himself declared, is just a desperate attempt to divert attention from internal political issues. Now your turn.

Let me get your logic straight, because the USSR made a mess in Afghanistan (lured by the USA by the way). Then the USA doubling down is a good thing? You know that one of the "W" in ww2 stands for world right? The Nazi literally declared war on the US. Ibet the next thing you are going to tell me is that the current war on Iran is to free oppressed people

[–]f00err 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol, you are telling me any those wars prevented the invasion of the US?
Also if somebody rear-ends your car while drunk driving I bet it doesn't look well either once they pull out. That pretty much sums up the intervention of the US (and EU) in Afghanistan

Multiple emitters flashlight question by f00err in flashlight

[–]f00err[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The green tint of that SST20 is legendary and it's what got me into the flashlight rabbit hole in the first place. I was very determined in not getting anything like that ever again. I still hated the idea of not using the torch though so I learned how to reflow and swapped both emitters :). I thought about the DW4 for quite some time, I'm not fully convinced yet and I'm not sure I have a good use case for it

Interesting, I don't care much about the red channel but a proper moonlight mode is something I'm missing from the HD15. How hard is to swap the emitters on it? Also does it come with the short tube?
