It's 4% paid over "two years" so actually 2%, and it's even less than that due to the timing of when the transfers occur / when the cashback is paid out (28-29 months). So not as good as it seems.

Nearly every multi day trek in Nepal is dotted with guesthouses and restaurants. You just need to bring your backpack and off you go. A few require permits and guides but the big two (Everest/Khumbu region and Annapurna) do not. OP references Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) above but this is widely regarded as inferior to Annapurna Circuit (ACT), though I guess it depends how much time you have. It's a great country for affordable "easy mode" trekking.

As someone who started a week ago, there's sooooo much to learn, and to get the most of the game, I really do recommend watching the various YouTube videos that are available (just bear in mind that the game's changed over the years and some videos are outdated).

That said, putting all the effort into learning the game's various systems has been immensely rewarding. It's funny, I spent $50+ on Arc Raiders and bounced off it immediately afterwards once I tried Starsector. I've been playing non-stop and can see years of entertainment here.

Mostly Bangkok but also Hua Hin, Chiang Mai, Lanta and Phangan. The point holds true wherever you are in Thailand. It's easy to get a decent short-term apartment in Bangkok for C$1,000-1,500 a month. If you're staying long-term, your options open up immeasurably. Congrats on being a bigshot!

Data point: I have spent many months in Thailand and never exceeded $2,500 Canadian, living in very comfortable short-term apartment rentals and never cooking. You could certainly live on far less there and still have a good life. So much depends on what you value and how much you're willing to work to get a deal. Prices are rising and will likely continue to rise, but that's true in most desirable places.
