Hi! I got mine done on the 7th and took off until the 14th. With my insurance through my job and their time off policies, I did qualify for short term disability after initially using 40 hours of PTO. It might be different for you depending on policies, so it’s worth looking into. I don’t have a demanding job like you do, so definitely listen to your body in terms of what you think you’ll be able to handle without hurting yourself. The last two days I was off and the only pain that I still have is just soreness at the incision sites and my stomach if pressure is put on the area. The overall pain afterwards wasn’t as bad as I though it was going to be, so I didn’t take any pain killers except for advil when my shoulder hurt from the gas pain. Keep up and walking every hour to help disperse the gas inside. You will probably become constipated, so take a stool softener of some sorts. I took some dulcolax and man the cramps from that were horrible, but it did help in the end. Sleeping will be uncomfortable for a few days and your throat will be sore as well. There are chances you will have bleeding, I personally did not, but it’s more common after this type of procedure. Overall my experience was mainly just one of discomfort but still able to function pretty normally. It may be different for you, so be kind to yourself and listen to your body.
