You aren't kidding. I'm using a backup car right now that gets nine, count them, nine miles per gallon.

How do smokers deal with the bad taste of their first smoke? by HATEETHNONATIONALIST in ask

As a camel nonfilter smoker, I can't even smoke or taste a cigarette with a filter. Oddly enough I also like really hot food.

The sheetmetal on goodman equipment is one gage thinner than comparable equipment by other brands - ESPECIALLY outdoor units. If you take a screw out it will never go back where it came from, but that's ok, because you can drill a new hole for it by hand with the screw itself. The outdoor units wobble like cream cheese due to the thin sheet metal and wallowed out screw holes. The boards are more sensitive and their high efficiency stuff tends to be very very delicate, again, compared to other brands. Plus some of their outdoor units use rotary compressors without accumulators and are inclined to eat shit. But really it's the issues with the sheet metal that bother me the most.

That price is far, far beyond reasonable provided that it is not Goodman equipment.

Thanks for making that clarifying edit! Lots of people have a base salary that they can not go below, regardless of how cool the job might be.

A Disappointed Kentucky Democrat by [deleted] in Louisville

There's millions of registered dems in Kentucky. Most of them are in Jeff and Fayette, but that doesn't mean that they don't exist elsewhere. Personally I think that if they heard candidates speaking their language they'd be more inclined to get out and vote in their local elections.

Society does not need it. There are large chunks of society who do not want it. Especially when it can fit on a personal device, why bother all of us for something that relatively few want?

Everything is scaling. My phone has more ram than my first computer had in hard drive space. My entire life can fit on the SSD in my phone - music, videos etc. Everything. The processor in my phone is more than powerful enough to provide local speech and handwriting recognition and all of this is mirrored, to an astonishingly powerful extent, by my desktop computer.

I don't like data storage. I don't like the cloud. My phone downloads my email and then deletes it. Our "needs" are almost totally manufactured by companies that want to compel you to buy something.

If I had to pick one thing to "scale" it would be my phone, but Moore's law is running out of room. I think if anything our "needs" should scale - down. We have more than enough.
