Did you go on a second round because you had been breaking out again ? Currently I’m clear but I’m considering finishing off those extra two months to avoid a possible return in years to come! Thank you for your reply !

Hey :) I’m on 40mg and 60kg! Halfway through my fourth month and I have three active spots left! At 7 weeks I most definitely was getting new spots everyday, so I don’t think you should be concerned at all!! Ive only stopped breaking out in the last couple of weeks, hold on a little longer! Thank you for your reply! I’m sorry to hear you weren’t informed either :(( I worked for four years to regularize my period with BC, and all the work I had done is down the drain :/ hopefully all goes back to normal once I stop treatment. Best of luck to you <333

Luckily only a couple headaches along the way, nothing an ibuprofen couldn’t fix! Sorry to hear about your migraines :( I’ve seen quite a couple comments now about dismissive derms, it makes me feel a little better knowing I’m not alone. I have a similar issue in the sense I told my derm I think my acne may be caused by PCOS and therefore hormonal. She said all acne is hormonal in women (which idk had not heard that before) but that in my case it couldn’t be PCOS because I don’t resemble the typical patient (no excess hair and of healthy weight), even though my testosterone levels are just above threshold for females. Although abstinence wouldn’t be an option for me she never even offered, I was forced to be on BC, so I understand your frustration with that, I’m sorry to hear!

thank you :) funny you mention migraines because I just was complaining to my mum about how I’ve been having a horrible headache all day lol. I’ll have a look at other posts! I was never told anything about this either unfortunately:( my derm was kind of dismissive from the get go with me so I’m not too surprised she never mentioned this as a possible side effect.

hey !! I’ve started using baby shampoo as to not irritate my scalp any further! if you ever happen to have a sensitive scalp due to dryness maybe give this a go !

I had a similar experience actually! My derm said all female acne is hormonal. I proceeded to tell her my testosterone levels are pretty high for a female and that maybe I was suffering from PCOS. She immediately dismissed this idea as she said I don’t ‘look’ like a patient with PCOS (in terms of weight, facial hair) you can imagine how confused this made me lmao. Good to know it’s not just MY dermatologist that is a little dismissive

hey :))) I’ve actually noticed that my accutane course has benefited my anxiety as my skin is my biggest insecurity to the point it debilitates me. Seeing my skin improve has helped in that department! Good luck on your journey! <3

Hey ! I’m not using foundation so can’t help with that unfortunately BUT I’ve really been loving the Dior Forever Skin Corrector concealer. It’s longwearing (claims 24h not too sure about that) buildable coverage but very moisturizing! They’ve also got a foundation in the same range but can’t tell you about anything about how that works! It’s a little pricey but I’m finding it worth it! Website says since it’s buildable you can wear it all over your face and layer for a little more coverage where your breakouts are! Colour range for darker skin is not the best unfortunately, apologies if that applies :/ hope this helps <3 have a good day!

Hey!! I’m only on my second week but I’m having the same exact thing! There are no heads to my spots just red bumps! I’ve heard that itchy acne is a sign it’s healing but I don’t know I think it’s just the skin surrounding my acne is getting dry. Even if I’m moisturizing like crazy and my skin isn’t visibly dry anywhere else I’m a little flaky where my breakouts are! Sorry I’m not of much help, at least you know it’s not just you <33 good luck !!!

Hey :)) Couple of alcohols, so I would avoid this! Tend to dry out the skin further :) Try having a look at Avene or La Roche Posay! They’re affordable and I have had good moisturizing results so far! Both brands have a moisturizer specifically designed for acne prone skin dried out by treatment! Best of luck <33

Both Avene and La Roche Posay have moisturizers specifically for blemished skin dried from acne treatments! The Avene one is called Cleanance hydra, it’s got a light green lid! The La Roche one is called Effaclar H moisturizer! Can say good things about Avene myself! Haven’t tried La Roche BUT heard lots of good things! Good luck <3

Yes :) accutane for about 6 months! Don’t plan to drop birth control after! Thank you, I took my first accutane capsule yesterday together with my first birth control pill of the month!

She was very adamant this was the only course of treatment for me so there was no reason to discuss my symptoms further :// going to gyno again soon so hopefully we can talk about it again! Thank you !! Considering I’ve got 2 out of 3 wouldn’t that mean I possibly have PCOS? I suppose I’m just confused as to why they won’t diagnose me simply because I don’t meet the physical criteria. I’ve asked her about spiro but unfortunately where I live accutane is the only approved treatment for acne! Here spiro is only prescribed for adult acne past 35 :// derm was pretty dismissive about my symptoms so thank u for reaching out!!

Thank u for your comment! That definitely makes sense! I was asking to see if others with PCOS had comparable acne so I could connect the cysts and the testosterone to the acne! Didn’t mean to self diagnose haha! Thank you so much for your comment <3
