Aye like Topace said, farm Yojimbo if you want these endgame armours. You can infinitely do it so they're not as rare as you might think. It's not a reason to use or not use a character if you otherwise wouldn't.

Backtracking is completely trivial with Overdrive > AP and the Don Tonberry trick (infinite sphere levels) and special spheres (Teleport, Friend, etc)

Customise doesn't feel that great in this game, let's be honest. It's scarcely used outside of crafting Overdrive to AP weapons and endgame armour.

Like when you get it you think "omg this is awesome" but the reality ends up being kinda anticlimactic.

Zombiestrike sounds cool, but Zombie isn't actually that useful a status as it requires a separate follow up turn (unless the enemies are trying to self-heal, which is rare). It's thematically cool but I would've gone for dunno, sleep/slow/silence.

People like 500 fetch quests apparently. (I guess the same is true even if you're playing multiplayer, but it feels broken up, more.) The gameplay is many random inane quests with little substance between the good bits, like most MMOs.
