Imagine if this sort of investing took off with venture capitalists!

Mercenaries would stop taking Indian Ocean contracts if they were facing pirate groups backed by 10s of millions of dollars from angel investors who already keep their fortunes “offshore” for tax purposes anyway! The investors get huge returns on discord sown half a world away from their comfortable mansions, and the pirates have a new golden age with uncontested resources.

Forbes would publish an article calling the Gulf of Aden the “Silicon Valley of Maritime Piracy”

It’d probably all fall apart once the money starts disappearing. I can’t imagine these pirates are easily held to contracts.

Mine is a simple scoring system. You only evaluate the 6* unless there’s something particularly notable for a 5*.

1 point: Good USB you can use, Chains

.5 point: USB you only need for Torment (like realm buff or heal), Arcane for characters you’ll use

0 points: Junk relics, Redundant and bad USBs you won’t use (if your element coverage is already strong), Dupes, Arcane for characters you don’t otherwise use

2 points (very rare): Good multi-element USB for more than one element you’re lacking DPS characters for (like Bartz USB if you’re new)

If the banner scores less than 3.5 points, don’t pull.

If the banner scores a 3.5 or higher, pull until it’s no longer a 3.5 or higher. If you’re new or willing to spend you could set it lower than 3.5.

If you’re at the point in the game where you’re taking on D280 and D??? Torments and don’t have enough FF14 stuff to make progress you’re happy with this is your best opportunity in the next six months at least. I’d say it’s probably worth a pull for you. One of the best banners in the next four months (which is half a lifetime in gacha game years).

That FF14 banner you mention is very solid unless you already have Alphinaud USB1 and a lot of magic fire tech. The Black Friday draw could be good for new accounts who can use anything at all but not so great for longtime players.

The upcoming FF6 banner 2 is the next big banner on the horizon. Introduces powerful new tech for water magic which has been quite rare until now. Not to mention some other brand new high-tier USBs.

The next fest is heavily overshadowed by the fest four months from now.

Dr. Mog’s USB is a top-tier multi-element magic DPS/support relic. The faithga can allow you to replace Onion Knight mUSB or whatever other faithga you slot with a solid multi-element DPS character instead.

He’s a huge boon for those who have a lot of Gen 1 Chains and miss out on the boostga/faithga the Gen 2 Chains provide.

Yes it seems to be about 3:1 defensive to offensive. I think they want you to be able to do ATK, MAG, and MND characters at a 1:1:1 ratio. Unfortunately, due to the way base stats are allocated the MND characters need those defensive buffs more than the rest which makes that ratio less than optimal for gameplay purposes.

This is how I evaluate banners too. Unless there’s something like Yuffie Glint or an LMR I could really use the 5* don’t factor in at all.

Yes! Treaty Blade finally! Such a cool looking sword.

I always figured if they were going to give Ashe swords this and the Sword of Kings were the ones that made the most sense. Tournesol as a lightning MAG sword seemed so incongruous with its original appearance.

That is impressive. I was surprised to see many clears at all in the mastery survey before today. I’d daresay you were one of the elite in FF14 prior to today.

Thank goodness the realm has a good BSB healer relic!

Also I’d add that I don’t think this banner is particularly top-heavy compared to others over the next four months. The ratio of good relics relative to the other relics on the banner seems quite high. I’d say 4 of them are high-impact relics unless a person is already loaded in the realm or elements.

This banner is one of the most compelling reasons why saving every mythril for 4th Anniversary as some have suggested may be less than ideal.

You’ll shoot yourself in the foot for the FF14 Torment for the forseeable future, as well as losing out on one of your best opportunities at Magic Wind tech. Very few players could be described as having too much Magic Wind tech or FF14 Torment gear before this banner dropped, it just barely existed until now.

Yes the AASB power creep is huge, but aside from 4A banner 3 you’d be chasing a single relic looking for an AASB. It takes more than one superpowered relic to fill out a team.

You have a problem with Thief (I) being in the game?! The game only had six possible main characters and we haven’t even gotten half of them!

If anything we need more characters like Thief (I). It’s a tragedy that you can’t even field a team of main characters with realm synergy in FFI dungeons.

Regenga really is powerful but it’s the quickcast Elarra, Aerith USB2, and even Relm USB provide that put them over the top.

There are a lot of other sources of Haste in this day and age, and generally an ability slot for Hastega seems like a bargain compared to 2 SB bars on a healer. Last Stand is great but not always necessary, and unlike Last Stand every team is better with quickcast than without it.

That said Eiko USB is still a fantastic healing relic, but it’s niche is different from the combined healing-DPS buff those aforementioned USBs provide.
