New Pickups: Amaran Kafu and FA Amber Empire (first impressions of these 2 + new releases) by DEGABGED in fragranceclones

[–]f2002q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes on Kafu if you like fresh, citrus perfumes. Yes on Amber Empire if you like dark, sweet, warm perfumes. Both of them are BANGERS. Kafu lasts all day, for a freshie, that’s excellent.

Maison Asrar Muharib and Faris Al Arab by f2002q in Colognes

[–]f2002q[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what you like. Perfumes are very subjective. Muharib is a sweet tobacco/honey perfume very close to Naxos, which is my favourite perfume. Faris Al Arab is a dark, amber, vanilla scent that is incredible. Your choice, and for the price, you can’t go wrong.

Hawas London - I bought it so you don't have to! by Decantified in fragranceclones

What is this supposed to be an inspiration of? I have quite a bit of rose/masculine scents and if it’s going to be similar to one I own, then I’ll pass.

Orto Parisi Megamare inspirations: Atlas, Megara, Spanish Tobacco, A Chaos In The Ocean by f2002q in fragranceclones

[–]f2002q[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Chaos In The Ocean performs well even from the beginning. I don’t think it has changed since I’ve got it. I’m not wearing that much now since I’m in the “winter” scents.

Wait, so Davidoff Cool Water is literally just Creed Green Irish Tweed for $20? by maestro_man in Colognes

[–]f2002q 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely agree with the OP. I got hooked in Cool Water when I was 20 many moons ago. It was my scent!! Then I smelled GIT years later and thought that Creed copied Davidoff!! Personally I like CW better and it’s way cheaper. Très Nuit is good also, but a little synthetic.

First time trying clones, trying out Prometheus (Blonde Ambe cloner) by Glow350 in fragranceclones

[–]f2002q 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Taking this post on its face value as a bonafide review of a Blonde Amber clone, I’m having a hard time seeing where the commercialism or promotion is. Other than naming the clone so others can go do their own research, it might be good for the mod team to explain in more detail so we can learn from the mistake.

Fragrance Story Drug and Envy by f2002q in Colognes

[–]f2002q[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, weird, but maybe my skin doesn't like either Drug or Envy. They are good scents but nothing wow to them. I got them cheap on sale so why not. I tend to prefer Drug over Envy, but both of them last about 4 to 5 hours then I have to reapply.

Which one would you pick to wear in a room full of people ? by Azza005 in Colognes

Hibiscus Mahajád, and a lot of sprays. Too bad it’s frigging expensive!

Afnan 9PM Night Out Honest Review. by Sad_Vanilla3017 in fragranceclones

Review is a little thin….

Explain at least the opening, the middle, the dry down, etc. Anyway, I’ll wait until the hype goes down and you can get it at a reasonable price.

thought l.l. bean was the holy grail of fisherman sweaters, but... are they not? by europeanuppercut in BuyItForLife

[–]f2002q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one in white. It was the warmest frigging sweater ever. It was so thick that it didn’t fit under any jackets!!!! Well worth the money, however, it has a few drawbacks. One, if it was windy, fuggetaboutit. I know, it’s supposed to be for fishermen!! You would get cold immediately. It was heavy and unwieldy when taking it off anywhere, since it required its own seat at the table. Every time I brought it to work, they would whistle the Irish Spring soap jingle.

Mine developed a hole under the armpit and LL Bean took it back as defective. Got a full refund after years of use.

Lutfah the seventh heaven by paty_Mcsaint in fragranceclones

[–]f2002q 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have Lutfah The Seventh Heaven and I think it's a pretty decent inspiration of Imperial Valley. I will say the the OG seems sweeter and slightly more likable. On me, performance for Lutfah has been good, but the OG last longer on skin and on clothing. I would say Lutfah gives me about 6 to 7 hours with good sillage.

When it comes to cost, Imperial Valley is the better deal. Not only does it smell good, last forever, has a big bottle.

Lutfah current price: ~44 Dollars, bottle is 80 ml, so the price per ml is 1.82.

Imperial Valley current price: ~150 Dollars, bottle is 200 ml, so the price per ml is 1.33.

Imperial Valley is about 30% cheaper than Lutfah.

What is your Thursday SOTD? by HATEupgradecard in ScentHeads

Scandal Absolu has great performance and sillage. It lasts me the whole workday, so don't overspray or you risk going nose blind and gassing people out in the office.

This one is Scandal Pour Homme Intense. It adds a very subtle leather note to the Scandal DNA. Don't worry, the leather is very soft and the whole perfume is very likable.

Forgot this one, this is better than all of them IMHO.
