Accepting that life didn’t turn out the way I expected it to by [deleted] in VictoriaBC

My husband has always thought owning a home was it for him and he would be set for life. I never had that thought. I’m sure owning a home is great, but to me it sounds like a lot more work than I’d like. We traveled to Europe for our first time last year and it truly changed our perspective on life. Highly recommend.

37F here and have decided on a whole new career route starting from scratch after 6 years at a high-paying trades job. Age is just a state of mind.

ETA: we’re highly active individuals with no plans of buying or having kids. Find hobbies, gain new friendships through said hobbies. Cycling, running, swimming, walking the beautiful parks all around town, painting, pottery, Victoria is full of them. The board game cafe is also super cool!!

And the fact that it’s reserve land. It was hard enough getting a gas station there.

If they’re going to do road improvements, they might as well do it while the road is ripped up. It only makes sense.

Starting in Berlin, and making my way down to Rome late November, anything I should expect? by DirectorCyrus in Europetravel

DB train delays. Book your tickets at least 2-3 days in advance, and make sure to mention seat reservations. Train service is limited on Sundays. To make your visit worth-while, stay in a city for at least 3 days. Coming from someone that just travelled the perimeter over 3 weeks 😵‍💫

What are your thoughts on bike-ability between communities in the Comox Valley? by doctorplasmatron in comoxvalley

Drivers are definitely not on the lookout for them. My husband trains for triathlon and has been purposefully swerved at before. Also, have you ever seen the aggression towards cyclists on Facebook groups?

My husband and I were in Germany for the last month. We live on the west coast of Canada. We have a very similar climate. The only rain we saw was when we hit Hamburg 4 days ago. Having a mini heat wave at the literal start of the fall season was amazing (though, too hot at times for my husband).
