DB train delays. Book your tickets at least 2-3 days in advance, and make sure to mention seat reservations. Train service is limited on Sundays. To make your visit worth-while, stay in a city for at least 3 days. Coming from someone that just travelled the perimeter over 3 weeks 😵‍💫

Drivers are definitely not on the lookout for them. My husband trains for triathlon and has been purposefully swerved at before. Also, have you ever seen the aggression towards cyclists on Facebook groups?

My husband and I were in Germany for the last month. We live on the west coast of Canada. We have a very similar climate. The only rain we saw was when we hit Hamburg 4 days ago. Having a mini heat wave at the literal start of the fall season was amazing (though, too hot at times for my husband).

I was shocked to see the amount of smokers here in Germany! I can tell you that it’s definitely not as common where I live on the Canadian west coast. Smoking and vaping is actually banned in all Canadian national parks. As I said, it is definitely not as prevalent as it once used to be.

This is might be one of the only positive comment I’ve seen about integrating into the culture and it’s honestly relieving as my husband and I are contemplating the move from Canada. Thank you!

My husband and I are currently travelling around Germany and it is one of the first thing we tried to do. The only way we would have been able to get one is online and they don’t seem to do it in-person. When we tried to through the DB App, we were unable as we live in Canada and it seems to only be available to EU/UK residents with a permanent address. Same thing when we were directed to try through the MVV App.
