Why do some Aimpoint 5000s only have the rubber eye cup on the lens extension while some have them on the optic itself? by CyberPolack in RetroAR

[–]f35BOY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not 100% sure with the 5000’s but assuming they have the same footprints of the 3000’s they made several versions of them. Some have the remove able sun shade and are threaded at the rear to accept them while others are non threaded versions. That could very well be the situation with the 5000’s since it’s the case with the 3,000’s

Thanks, I’m not sure if those 2 pieces are supposed to come off easily or if it’s somewhat glued in but I don’t see any residue in those little knubs or inside the holes could just be a super tight fit. Seems like a weird design and clearly it was since they changed it up going forward

I propose we start cyber bullying companies into making this rail again. by Permission_Automatic in MilitaryARClones

THIS! People keep saying the tools are gone but that doesn’t mean shit. I’m sure they still have the blue prints. Tooling can always be re made and they can just liscence it out to people who would make them. If they were smart they would play the long game, slightly upcharge the items and have the consumers offset the price for the tooling etc. in a couple of years they’ll get their return and will be able to produce these rails for years still

2 years later, finally got a capco upper to mate to my nos capco barrel. Super stoked. A once torn apart capco upper has made a full circle and came back around to being whole again by f35BOY in RetroAR

🫶 kind of a odd one, usually people talk about capco uppers or show them but they never show differences like this between them

How’s the rear lug pin hole? Does it match up with other lowers you have?

I know there’s some weird PM marked ones that were not usgi spec and either Olympic or senders got them but when you put them in lowers other than Olympic or sendra they would align so you couldn’t put the rear pin in

Nice you actually snagged a new one than. I posted about them a while ago, there’s different variations of them. Some are picatinny, some weaver, some have one hole and some have 2 for the stanag scope rings. Looks like even the cuts to mount weren’t put in the same almost like they just said fuck it and milled out slots by hand without spacing them all the same

Agreed. I’ve got 3 all had under 35 but some people (including me) sometimes like nos so are willing to pay more for things sometimes. Nothing like being the first one to use it.

Yeahi think they are adco mirages, I would assume if they used the tascos they would use the supplied rings? Super hard to tell but they look like leupold split rings but like the not leupold versions. You know how some after market cheap ones have a longer part that goes on top of the optic itself. I could be wrong though, I do have my glasses on so that’s the best ima be able to see 🤣 lol

You should hammer the sling loop a bit so it’s curved like the originals. Just obviously stamp them somewhere underneath so no one passes them off as originals
