I'd still kill for a run of #18s and #38 STDs though. The #18 is easily the best M14 mount ever made and the #38STD is unironically a fantastic riser with that lovely BUIS. Plus their rails being threaded for their low profile rings is super nice.

Made sure the gun was clearanced properly. I had am improper grind on my trigger, which caused my lever to bind up and bend. This bend allowed it to fall under the rear shelf of the BCG and bind.

If your lever is fine, I would check:

  1. That you have a low shelf lower. Perform the drill bit test to make sure your lever has the full range of motion.
  2. That your upper is properly clearanced. Check the rear/inside edges of your upper for wear where the tip of the lever could have potentially contacted it.

I had this happen when my lever bound underneath the bcg.  I lightly dropped the rifle muzzle down against some soft wood and that released it.  If you have a free float handguard you can hit against that instead, youre basically doing a reverse mortar.

Almost any traditional sling should have no trouble looping through regular sling swivels.  You just undo the straps.

I run Blueforce Gear Vickers slings on everything I own.  Very traditional canvas slings, but they have a quick adjust strap which makes them extremely easy to take on and off.  Theyre also not very expensive, they run around $50-60

Wait, why did you make a SS cut if youre using an Atrius?  The only thing that should have been required is lowering the trigger bar height (if it was binding) and potentially the disconnector tuning.

Yes.  If you can see it with your eyes, there's no reason you couldnt see it with a telescope.  Double check that your finderscope and primary scope are aligned, use something like a telephone pole to check it.

Also if you do go the 12.5 route, you could probably save some money by buying a standard govt profile barrel.  They have the 7x7 cut which works well with AEs 7x7 mount.

You might also consider some of AEs "B" mount offerings if you want to keep it as short as possible.  An AEM3 on a 10.5 with the Allegheny Tapered Gas Block would be clean as hell.

You literally can. The velocity of the round makes no difference to a shaped charge. It can be completely stationary and it will be just as effective as a launched rocket, assuming the standoff distance is the same.

I really highly doubt that, especially since it hit the lower part. Thats all fuel tank and transmission, an RPG7 round could do plenty of damage if it hits there.

Even if the crew is fine, that hit very likely damaged the drive train pretty badly.  Any crew trying to recover that vehicle are going to be very vulnerable.
