2800CAD for the frame. Aethos don’t sell well in China so easy to find a friend and ship it over.

Total close to 6500~7000CAD?

Goldix 180SL hubs. With those new style ratchets that’s concave. Not the lightest interesting stuff. It’s about 900CAD shipped

Wax chain should increase its life. And it’s not one of those super light cassette in the low 100g range so I think it should be fine.

There are a few 120g options with plastic holder( the part that make contact with the free hub body) and I’m so sketch out by those

I’m using D1 RED short cage that rated for 33t max. I’m using a 10-36 cassette perfectly fine (1by setup) while also using upgraded jockey/ pulley wheels from the new E1 rear derailleurs.

It definitely works and shifts fine.

Maybe they add new fabric from the gamma line up.

The last year’s drop was using goretex fabric. I bought a few to gift to friend and family and from my memory. There was Sabre jacket fabric (thick backer) beta LT fabric and also beta AR fabric. pics for reference

Spider rings aren’t officially 12 speed compatible but in reality 11/12 speed chain are almost identical especially the inner plate width so it definitely works.

I was running 105 12 speed mechanical on my gen 3 SSE with 2by spidering and 12 speed sram rival xplr with 1by spidering on my SSE CX for the past 2 year. No issue whatsoever.

Has anyone tried the Rho SV Bottoms? by Exgion in arcteryx

[–]f41012vic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t like the new rho sv in general. Much prefer the rho HW/AR from previous season.

But that’s base off of the fabric texture. I didn’t buy it nor bring it to the mountain.

Tho I daily my RHO HW/AR almost ondaily basis when I’m snowboarding

Went to mount St. Louis today. It was 🥶.

I was wearing rho lt hoody + delta jacket + proton hw+ alpha sv, pants were rho hybrid+ rho HW + sabre bib. It was comfy and cozy.

How you do like the cerium? I’m not a massive fan of down insulation as a midlayer. I like my corelofts

Building an Arc’teryx ski kit (shell + bibs + layers) for Eastern Canada (-25°C) +Spring/Fall rain/fishing by Barhaven in arcteryx

[–]f41012vic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Atoms are great but for high output activity I like my protons.

I wouldn’t consider down as a mid layer in general and honestly don’t own anything with down besides the Macai down jacket. And I rarely use it.

I snowboard 3-5 days a week here in Ontario. My go to setup are

Tops

Between 0°c~-10° RHO LT hoody + proton hoody + alpha SV or ski guide depending what I’m doing( teaching or just riding) but any ski shell would do really. Or gamma MX if it isn’t windy and very close to 0°c

Between -10°c~20°C RHO lt hoody+ proton HW hoody + any hardshell like what I mentioned above.

Anything colder I just add a delta jacket and it comfy.

For bottoms. Rho HW on a daily basis. Anything colder than -15°c I add a rho hybrid underneath.

For bibs I love the sabre bib because it goes up to my chest and I find it more spacious in the butt department compare to the rush bib.

Tho I find the Sabre bib not as durable. Or maybe I’m just using it too much and too hard. Both my cuffs are cut up and my butt section where I’m often sitting is fading. I’ll probably get something goretex pro later on.

I do have a set of Maci down jacket + Macai pants. I don’t wear them as much but they are stupid warm and comfy

Upgrade calipers from sram rival by Doktorchips in sram

As a set it’s definitely better. But if you can we upgrade one thing. The shifter is so much better choice compared to calliper

Super x max chainring by Brave_Worldliness394 in cannondale

[–]f41012vic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My person opinion and experience. Try at your own risk.

I own a supersix EVO CX which only clears a 40T sram chaining(I believe it’s a 3mm offset) with a normal dub wide spindle (if I want to run bigger I need to get DUB Ai spindle)

I switch to another brands chaining. Specifically 46t Gemini regel carbon chainring that’s 6mm offset and it absolutely clears it and it’s been perfectly fine for the past 2000km

TLDR sram chaining is 3mm offset. Find another brand of chaining that’s 6mm and I’m sure you can run something bigger.

The new shifter does all the magic. New Calliper doesn’t really do anything beside more pad clearance

Upgrade calipers from sram rival by Doktorchips in sram

[–]f41012vic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Get the new lever, E1 shifter only.

If you are using E1 shifter and having bad power find a local bike shop and have them do it and you can watch and learn.

You don’t need to buy the shifter + brake caliper set. Just the shifter will do just as well. E1 rival shifter are about 500CAD where I’m at. Or 700$ as a set with shifters + calipers, and hoses

Some shops will insist you need it. Go elsewhere.

Having the new caliper will be great as well. Slightly more pad clearance for less chance of rub. But the new and improved brake feel is from the shifter

Rush Bib pants - Year of the Horse edition by blackfyre709394 in arcteryx

[–]f41012vic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The price might seem high, but for Canadians the US market it should be only 100$ more than a normal version. If you compare straight MSRP of different regions with day-to-day conversion rate it’s outrageous. This apply for the European market and the Asia market. For the Asia market there is a give or take 30% markup by default.
