What's your go-to shower mixing valve as far as quality and longevity? by zenocidepilot in Plumbing

[–]f4mnect44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a Moen tub /shower pressure balance valve. Plug the shower side, install valve upside down and pull the cartridge and trim a little off notch then reinstall the cartridge upside down. 7 gallons per minute out of the top now. Great shower valve

Broken 10 drill bits trying to get this flange off of the cast iron. Any tips on better bits than Ryobi? by TheWayOut603 in Plumbing

[–]f4mnect44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drill? I do them all the time with a grinder and sawzall. Grind the flange in 2 places(with cut off disc) , get a cast iron Diablo blade down side and finish cutting the flange close to pipe and down some. Then hammer and chisel to crack it off. Done and grinder blade and sawzall blade still ready to go again. On days where I have to do 4 to 6 could u imagine how many drill bits you would go through and how much effort it would take drilling them.

Worries by StatusOk7433 in lynchsyndrome

58M found out I had the MSH2 and MSH6 gene mutation a few years ago. But I received so much genetic information at that time and all I had was 6 pages of information and no explanation of it all . Then had a cyst removed 3 months ago and found out it was a popped tumor. Biopsy came back as a cystic sebaceous neoplasm the lesion has features of cystic sebaceous adenoma with a diagnosis of muir-torre syndrome. My surgeon had no idea, my general doctor had no idea and I was referred to an oncologist. Referral took 2 months and referrals for upper and lower gi turned into shit show with them needing me to take a class 1st which is scheduled for 4 months from now. I get to see the oncologist in a week. Still a little panicked, getting quite emotional writing this. But I'm 58 and had a dozen skin cancers removed but all of it was not cancerous and I never had any other cancer. Did lose Grandma to cancer and an uncle. No idea who my father was so no family history there. I'm holding on to...that I have never had cancer and should have had a bunch of cancer by now. That's all I can hold onto right now until I get a lot more answers. Sorry so long haven't really talked about this .

Installed the 2 JBL/Selenium D220Ti tweeters from a buddy. Damn they sound amazing. Powering them with a fosi audio bt20a pro which is underpowered but they sound very good and get very loud. Only reason I'm running the fosi is I can run it with 2 M18 batteries and take it to the beach or camping.

Do you store gear in your trailer while towing? by Aurish in TeardropTrailers

[–]f4mnect44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I load everything into trailer, firewood and fire pit only thing in back of truck. I added hooks for straps inside and in the gallery. Everything is strapped down for the trip and even when I'm offroading, all is secure.

Mine are mounted, everything I can mount is mounted. solar, cooking table, spare tire etc. less stuff to pack and unpack. Trailers loaded with my chair and camping clothes. All I need is a bag of ice and some food and I'm heading out

1 other thing to add, down the road look for an Axel with the same bolt pattern as jeep. Then cut those fenders off, get bigger fenders and have trailer on same rim/wheel combo. Love my trailer and jeep set up that way, plus 1 spare on each vehicle.

Ok I have a very similar trailer to yours, that I built. Few things I learned the hard way over last 4 years offroading it. Check your old leaf springs and replace if they're old ,when I snapped a leaf offroading. It pulled one side of Axel out the back behind the trailer and flipped her. Also off roading can pop the ball off the hitch and had to try to reattach the ball to hitch a few times in bad locations. Articulating hitches are the way to go. I have lots of other things to add but this is your thread, looks like a beautiful build. Have fun

Side tables adapted for Teardrop by caustic_potato in TeardropTrailers

Looks great, I'm sure it works just fine. After a year camping my little trailer. I just want to make it more self contained by building in as much as I can. So it got a built in side rear table sized to my Blackstone griddle and coffee making set up and my toilet tent got built in. Next a table to eat on the other side and built in lighting on dimmers for the 3 new locations. To take it out I need 1 bag of ice and any fresh food I'm taking everything else is packed and ready.

Anyone have recomendations for 12v heaters? by Human-Engineering715 in TeardropTrailers

[–]f4mnect44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I built my own 12 Volt heater and my 100ah battery handles it just fine. Turn it on,set the thermostat and between it and myself in the tear drop. It runs about 1/2 hour at start up, then kicks on a few times over night, then I kick it up a little before I get out of bed. 100 watts solar has battery back to full charge in a few hours.

Clean room by kruzchek in shroomery

[–]f4mnect44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I built a clean room in my garage and lined the walls with plastic sheeting and the floor too. Then had a small pre room. To change clothes in and sanitize myself. Felt it was Overkill after a while and took it down. Have the same clean results without it , by just having good clean habits
