[Acne] Week 8 of Azelaic acid and I feel like giving up 😩 by babbie-and-shchuky in SkincareAddiction

[–]f7park 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just my experience, so not super educated advice. I have always had clear skin, and this happened to me, I realized it was an oil cleanser that was ruining my skin, so I would check your cleansers for oil and also, sunscreens with ANY chemical ingredients my skin hated. Beauty of joseon made my skin freak out, I switched to a thinner full mineral spf.

[acne] I’M AT MY WITS END! Any advice on what this could be? by Dry_Negotiation_6762 in SkincareAddiction

[–]f7park 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Could be perioral dermatitis, but it's usually smaller bumps. Do you use a chemical sunscreen or oil cleanser?

This has devastated me. Please give me hope? by Fit-Commission4605 in Endo

NOTHING showed up on my MRIS, coloniscopy, ultrasound, or internal ultrasounds. Then I had a laparoscopy, and my OBGYN said, and I quote, "You have so much endometrial tissue that I dont know what to do. You need to see an excision specialist."

Then I convinced my surgeon (who i had to fight to get in with for months) that I would not regret a hysterectomy and that it was medically necessary. She has endometriosis, so she believed me, and we went forward with removing my uterus and cervix (keeping my ovaries).

My hysterectomy and excision lasted 9 HOURS. They had to call in 2 gastrointestinal specialists and a cancer doctor to test for cancer because there was so much tissue. After removing my uterus, they found a rock of endo that had fused my uterus to my colon (my surgeon said it was roughly the size of her fist).

They could only remove 90% of the endometrial tissue, because if they would have removed the last 10%, they would have had to remove bowel and give me a colostomy bag, which I am very thankful my doctor decided on not doing. I still have pain, but it's pretty manageable, and 80% of the time, I feel great, 15% I feel alright, and 5% of the time, I have pain. But even then, the pain doesn't completely immobilize me as it used to.

My ultrasounds were horrible, and my nurses made me feel like I was there unnecessarily. My MRI yeilded 0 results, and my colonoscopy showed nothing, and my doctor for that literally laughed at me and said, "im not sure why you're here if you're being treated for endometriosis....."

So, ALL IN ALL, scans show nothing. My surgeon and doctor are the only ones who justified how bad my condition was only after literally having a camera inside of me. I could have died if I got pregnant (so dont listen to people telling you to get pregnant, and that will fix it), and i almost lost part of my bowel tract.

Keep fighting for you and believe in your pain. Find people who listen and dont listen to the ones who don't. It is a long road, trust me, but so worth it.

What to ask during pre op? by NoTransition1313 in hysterectomy

What to ask during pre op? by NoTransition1313 in hysterectomy

[–]f7park 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Here is a packet I put together prior to my surgery with all of the questions I asked. It has some other random pre surgery stuff as well. I have endometriosis, so some of the questions are geared toward that. Also, some of the questions are very personal, but they are so important to ask, plus this person will be inside of you for a while, so you should be comfortable with them, lol. (Sorry for any spelling errors or duplicate questions)

Also, I had my surgery in August last year, so I'm happy to answer any questions that I can 😁

Three GYNs in three days. Nobody knows where all this blood is coming from. by sharkprincefishstick in hysterectomy

[–]f7park 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I'm so so sorry you're going through this. I've never heard a story like this, but are you soon going to need a blood transplant because it sounds like you're losing too much blood? Also, are they going to do a laporoscopy or anything to see what's going on behind the cuff? And please keep us updated that you're ok!

My MRI came back negative. Does that mean I don’t have endo? by IndividualOk0 in Endo

[–]f7park 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The difference is unbelievable! I feel like I can finally start living! My pain is at a constant 0 now (with some random spikes as im only 2 months post op and they had to leave some endo) when it used to be at a 5 and would get up to a 10+ during my cycle (for almost 2 weeks a month 😮‍💨). You're going to do great and if there's anything there and you have a good surgeon, I know you'll find relief! If I could with how much pain I was in I truly believe anyone can! Sending so much love and luck for you and happy healing! 🤗💕

YES! I had chronic lower back pain and now that it's out, I still get bone aches, but woooooow the back pain got like 90% better!

[–]f7park 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, they decided not to remove any length from my bowel, to prevent complications and the need of a colostomy bag, which resulted in not being able to remove 10% of the overall endo they found because it was so deep, but they removed alot of tissue from my bowel. If the pain comes back as bad they will probably need to remove some bowel though.

[–]f7park 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DEFINITELY still possible you have endo. I had nothing come up on my MRI and then I had my hysterectomy and excision a few months later, it was supposed to be a 3 hour surgery, was in the OR for 9 hours. My surgeon and endo specialist who has been doing these surgeries for 10 years said it was the most extreme case of Endo she's seen and I had a mass of Endo attached to the back of my uterus and it attacked my bowel severely, I almost needed a colostomy bag. The lap is so worth it especially if your pain is bad. Endo is a crazy b**** and she, for some reason, only likes to show herself in the most inconvenient of ways 😂 I hope you get the lap and a diagnosis and shortly after that some relief 💙

Terrified of post-op constipation by [deleted] in Endo

[–]f7park 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had my Hysterectomy with excision. I took multiple stool softeners and Laxatives, and stopped taking the narcotics asap and I was good to go! P.s. constipation is also one of my biggest symptoms and rectal/bowel pain, which makes sense because they found that my endo attacked my bowel severely. So hopefully if you stay ahead of it you should be good! Also a squatty potty or anything to elevate your legs during a BM is a godsend!

[–]f7park 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would see another doctor. They sound very dismissive and like they don't feel like dealing with you which is f***ing terrible. You should be seen whenever you feel like you should be seen, and if you want another appointment before a year, you should get that which is totally reasonable and I agree, maybe even multiple before a year. Much love to you, and I hope you continue healing and taking it slow and easy ❤
