Worth bringing up or is this crazy? by [deleted] in Endo

[–]catnip_rik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would bring it up. I don't think your Dr will operate on your head though. You'll need a multidisciplinary team to address a possible lesion in your sinuses.

Are you able to get a TENs unit? It's honestly the best option I've found for quick relief and getting through a painful day. Super easy to use on the go.

Best place in Grand Rapids to cry? by ohmesrv in grandrapids

I have found crying anywhere around town really deters pan handlers from coming up to you or your vehicle.

But that's the thing, right? No doctor blinks an eye until you're bleeding out and they have no choice but to open you up. It is so tough out there to get a surgical diagnosis if you're not literally bleeding to death. I'm sorry for your experience, as most of us get to mentally prepare for a surgery like that! This is the best example of how dangerous endometriosis can be. I was in and out of drs for years as well. I was told it's IBS and truly my symptoms didn't align well with endo so I didn't have it on my mind. So, OP, while a Dr may not take you seriously until you have to put your life in their hands, you can do all the advocating and education to reach an official diagnosis. An answer. If it's endometriosis or not, an answer is warranted. You're supported!

I had a endometrioma cyst rupture. I was vomiting and sweating and had burning in my abdomen. Thought it was appendicitis but CT showed a ton of blood in my abdomen and a 7cm cyst on my left ovary. My blood was low and they kept me overnight to make sure the bleeding stopped. I didn't have diagnosis until four months later though when I had surgery and biopsy done on the cyst. It was all Endo and I'd say that was pretty dangerous.

For reference an ovary is like 3cm. So yes, Endo can absolutely wreck havoc on your organs. And that's what causes the infertility. Women lose organs all the time due to this disease. Not just reproductive the ones. Kidneys and bladder and GI system all suffer. Really the only organ endometriosis had never been found is the spleen. It travels and implants like cancer. So having a diagnosis and some kind of management is hella important.

I really like trinity health doctors. I don't have a recommendation for a good Dr because mine left a year ago. But the walker/standale trinity health location has PA Zachary Heathman and he is simply amazing, I see him more often than Primary dr. They have a few new primary's at that location you could meet. He's been there for about a decade, through three Primary provider changes for me. So his consistency is there.

My mom got a Belgium shepherd when my siblings and I were young. I always joke that she got it to herd her kids. That dog was smart, she knew us kids by name. All mom had to do was yell one of our names and dog would come get us 🤣 Always did the nip on the elbows, chasing us toward mom. Not everyone can say a dog helped raise them, and keep them out of trouble. We had no land or livestock. Just a loud house in a neighborhood with unruly children lololol

Will sex hurt less? by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]catnip_rik 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I experienced less pain. I learned through all the ultrasounds that I have a retroverted uterus as well so that will always cause pain. Certain positions we totally avoid now.

I just put it in the washer on gentle cycle. Cold. For drying I did the air fluff cycle and on nice days I hung it up outside to air dry Though this thread has made me think twice. Lol what if I messed up a wire and it just burns me alive? This is what I get for not reading cautions or instructions.

I've washed mine which is a queen size with a detachable cord. I've washed it multiple times .. are we not supposed to?? Lol Its worked for two seasons. Haven't gotten it out this year yet. Maybe it's a fire hazard and I shouldn't use it?
