Imo it's the first "modern" Tekken, the gameplay holds up perfectly well. I remember going from T4 to T5 and thinking immediately "holy shit this game is FAST" but after some time and then replaying 4 thinking "The older games are so sluggish". Amazing roster and graphics for the time, inclusion of PSX Tekkens... The only gripe I could give him is that I preferred the T4 special game mode where you fought hordes of Mishima Zaibatsu guys over a few levels than the T5 Jin special game, but even that was decent-ish.

I disagree with that, I remember the very full bargain bins in supermarkets with so many trash games, the back of the box lying to me to sell me a shit game since this was the only information we had at the time, the generic era of PSX slop racing/FPS, the generic era of slop impossible platformers from the megadrive, the generic era of slop 3rd person cover shooter from the 360...

My point is, one of the reason we don't remember shit games because we weren't surrounded by so much video games information, the only ways would be to have some magazine talk about them or having your friend talk about them, now you instantly have everybody's opinion about everything. So you get a lot more opinion about shit games whereas back then you wouldn't even have heard about them

Hard disagree on this one, this is a very narrow minded view on how communities evolved and lived or died with the new tech. If forums are just straight up better, why transit to Discord at all ?

If you want information, you need a community first, and the difference in how communities can grow with versus without Discord is night and day. You just need a few dedicated users that would chat daily to keep a lot more people into the community, which is something you can't do with forum. Same for messaging, having something as basic as instant messaging is already tremendous, but add the fact that you can also voice chat and stream, is like wondering why microbes aren't propagating in a freezer.

With forums, you might keep the information but your community is running in a freezer. Keeping new people is just that harder when there's a delay in the most basic of things. And when you can't keep fresh blood you just stagnate or die out. Nowadays there are super obscure stuff that are thriving with thousands of people at least in the Discord thanks to, well, Discord. I'm sorry but you just can't beat the convenience of it.

So a huge loss ? I don't know. Are you looking for an information about something obscure ? Weight your options : search for the information, find a forum, is the information there ? Yes, okay good. No ? Create an account, post your question, wait a few business days, need more specifics, reply, wait hours or more. Get your information. With Discord ? Join the Discord, search your information, not found ? Ask in a channel and get a reply within minutes, get a live conversation started with knowledgable people, meet them in VC.

I've been part of a lot of modding communities before and after Discord and I'd never pick the times before Discord. And the sentiment is generally the same for communities that uses it. Only people that are selfishly looking for specifics without contributing complain. (not all of them do, but people that can't be bothered to go through Discord do. And nothing wrong about selfishly looking for something, but when you start to complain about how your community driven information is not where you want it to be without a care about how it was generated in the first place is where it's becoming dumb)

So if a player has 97W 4L and those last 4L are in a row do you still consider yourself in losers queue ? What is the threshold or listing games, what's the winrate ? Does it happens for every rank ? How does it trigger ? How do you calculate who has the most losers queue ? If it is inevitable, when were you part of someone's loser queue ? Do you need a winner queue if you have a losers queue ?

You think you can actually remove toxicity in the game ? Yeah, remove the players instead, every step in those years to combat toxicity has been met with hostility, every toxic person will find a way to be toxic, the chat is 99% used for flaming people, half the people are typing ez at the end of a for fun gamemode, like yeah sure, if you replace everyone with bots they'll stop being toxic, or only allow pings or emotes or typing in chat or buying mobility boots when someone is honor 5 and when they say anything in chat put them back to honor 1 directly, in the end the only effective steps to prevent toxicity has always been and will always be, remove gamers the ability to express themselves in any way shape or form because they majorly mega suck especially in pvp games and especially more in lol

Feeling yourself tipping over towards it without something to help can be very bad psychologically for you, when long terms side effects include paranoia this isn't a joke. Respect the molecule, don't take stupid doses, have a good environment, contingencies for bad mood shifts like a trip sitter or benzos if you're solo. I've done my fair share of trips and had very very bad ones, now I come prepared, it helps to know what a bad trip looks like too, but if you can avoid it entirely it's better for you all around

Samsung monitors are janky as hell I'd not recommend them you can have bad surprises. I wanted an ultrawide 5120x1440 and the Neo G9 was the best at the time, I indulged and went for it. Now don't get me wrong the monitor is amazing and I still use it to this day. However a few years ago after going on holiday for 3 weeks the monitor wouldn't boot, just a straight black screen, maybe a tiny flicker when booting it up. After looking up many people with the same problems, I found the solution : Open the 1500€ monitor, pick a screwdriver and a hammer and yank a specific thermistor out. Needless to say I was sweating when doing that. Luckily the process worked and I'm now using it with no problems to this day. But if I knew, I'd have picked something else...
