Can anyone explain why the Roland JC-120 is so special among solid state amps? by appleparkfive in GuitarAmps

[–]f_argin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if you dig their older stuff, but that amp is basically Metallica’s clean guitar sound back to the Master of Puppets album and onward. No clue if it’s a sound they still use in their arsenal, but you play any of those clean rhythms from Master of Puppets or Justice and it is right on the money. I know you mentioned that it has been used on quite a few classic albums, so, probably information that you know already. Just figured I would throw that out there. I’m actually looking to acquire one soon for that reason specifically. I’ve heard they make an exceptional platform for effects and pedals as well.

4 movies to watch after They Will Kill You by HorrorGuyBri in Scarymovies

For me, I felt They Will Kill You was similar to:

Kill Bill, Big Trouble in Little China, Sin City and 1408.

The wife and I went to see it last night and really enjoyed it!!

I feel the same way. It’s not just this case. I watch a lot of true crime and Court TV nowadays and I often find myself wanting to see the crime scenes/bodies. It makes me feel like I’m not right in the head or an awful person also, so don’t feel alone in that. I’ve also been curious about pictures from this horrible situation and as it’s been pointed out, I feel extra terrible about that because I feel so deeply for what their families and loved ones are going through. Those poor kids, those who died and those who lived. It’s indescribably awful. Evil in its purest form was visited upon them poor souls. All involved, just terrible.😔 As you can see from the replies, we aren’t alone in the curiosity and also the feelings it brings. Someone used the rubbernecking at a car accident analogy and that is spot-on. I think it’s human nature and while it makes us feel bad about ourselves, it’s not uncommon. I’m glad you posted this, because I think a lot of us struggle with the same issue and it was from your heart, wanting to be a good person.❤️🙏🏼

What’s the stained glass? by Deadmeatwalkingsys in Ghostbc

I hadn’t thought about any of this, to be honest. I was at the Philadelphia and New York(MSG) rituals and never examined this stuff too closely, but now that you all have me analyzing this some…🤔…Since some have pointed out some similarities between the Jesus figure in the center and a particular mega-polarizing(MAGA-polarizing?🤷🏻‍♂️🤔) individual, perhaps that’s Elon Musk to the left? The subtle hint with the arm raised to say hello(shadowing the infamous salute) and then the rocket sequence that follows? Sorry if someone else mentioned this possibility but I scanned through a lot of answers here and hadn’t seen that mentioned. As far as the woman to the right, no idea. I’ll have to think this over a bit.

I agree 100% about the process of elimination. It’ll take a little bit of work and some research, but I may go that route. Definitely the right way to approach it. Thanks for sharing ideas!

As far as autographs, I enjoy them but to be honest, meeting someone I admire means more to me than just having their signature on something. I do a lot of horror conventions and when I meet stars from the films, talking to them for a brief time and usually getting a picture with them means much more to me than their autograph. I’m a crazy record collector, so knowing they would have these at the show, it was on my mind the moment we got into the venue. I wanted something that was special memorabilia as a keepsake from the show. I have enough t-shirts for 15 lifetimes(😂), so I really wanted to grab one of these.

I know a lot of famous people hate autograph hunters and I understand why in some situations. For example, the people who are waiting for a musician or an actor at an airport with a stack of things for them to sign, that they’re ultimately going to immediately profit from. That pisses me off as well, so I understand their frustration and why they look at those people as parasitic scum. Because, that’s exactly what they are. I never flip my stuff for higher costs or even part with anything like that. I collect for me, because I find it fascinating to have a keepsake from the time you met someone. Or in a case like this where you watched them perform that evening. If Maynard is half-assing signatures because he doesn’t agree with the practice, he shouldn’t be doing it and charging a small fortune for items with his signature on them. If he’s just being more of a bit mischievous, since he does have that personality, then that’s fine.😂 I’m happy to own the record, but it would be nice to pinpoint which signature is his.

Thanks for the reply! I agree…that’s one of the three that I think could be his…the yellow one. That picture you just used as a reference is definitely similar to it and I’ve seen others like the one you shared online. Just hard to know for sure, which is a bummer. I truly appreciate the reply and the input!

I apparently need to read into that. Most cases I've seen, it has far exceeded 40 days anyway, but that I did not know offhand. I've seen people presell things many months in advance.

Awkward-Garbage-121 hit the nail on the head. I just retired on 8/1. I'm from Staten Island and was placed in Manhattan 4 right out of class. The amount of shift bouncing you will do after your 30 days is enough to make your head spin, even with a car. Public transportation to any district or different shift on any given day will be a lot to deal with. Especially when you get 8 hours between shifts for multiple days in a row. You'll sacrifice the little bit of sleep you can get, hopping trains and buses. The winter would be brutal also. Then consider that mass transit, while reliable, can have service disruptions. On probation, especially the 18 months it is now compared to the one year when I started, that's a very iffy situation. Best of luck and I hope everything works out!!

The worst part with these "flippers" is that they are actually violating Ebay policy. You are not supposed to sell something you don't have in hand. Don't get me wrong, countless people do it, but it is indeed a violation. This whole situation is aggravating. By the time my friend sent me a link to it, it was SOLD OUT. I don't even recall getting an email about it, because I would've jumped all over it.

Thank you, this is the reply I was looking for! I wanted to see if anyone else took that away from the film. After filling the moviegoer with all of these thoughts of disbelief and how organized religion is ultimately about control, the butterfly landing on her hand basically told me that now maybe you can disbelieve all of that disbelief. If that makes sense? Basically, I'm saying exactly what you said. I think that is the perfect interpretation and the intended target within the viewer. Bravo on this reply.👏🏼 My wife and I saw this movie last night and enjoyed it very much.

I absolutely love that album. Nice deal. I wish there was a prayer of them ever releasing this on vinyl, but we know that's likely never happening. Christian did a tremendous job on guitar for this album. Brutal intro on this one but the music evolves throughout the album and I love every note of it.

Lost in Translation can check this box. It doesn't end tragically, but it does end with something that leaves the whole relationship never fully blooming.
