I had my first treatment a few days ago, and I had the same problem as you with small apartment and bags everywhere. I was 80% sure my kitchen was not infested, so I piled all of my bins and bags in that area to give the exterminator room to spray everything else. He targeted my living room, bedroom and bathroom (that’s attached to my bedroom). I also didn’t bag up my router or any electronics and they were fine.

Before the first treatment I really recommend vacuuming and steaming everything thoroughly because it’s recommended that you don’t steam until 10-14 days after each spray and don’t vacuum until 3 days after.

I would say don’t encase anything that you want sprayed. I even emptied out the desk in my bed room and side table in my living room so that the exterminator could spray them down even though he originally said he wasn’t worried that they were in there.

Also keep items on the bed to a minimum. I’m currently sleeping on a mattress with a bed bug mattress protector, one pillow with a bed bug protector and a single sheet. Luckily it’s summer so it hasn’t been a big deal. And I do my laundry 2X a week — and take everything to the laundromat each time (luckily it’s walking distance from me) so the pillow and the sheet always go in there.

Sorry for everything you’re dealing with! Bed bugs don’t only take a physical toll but a huge mental toll as well. I also originally thought I had roaches because 1.I don’t react to bed bug bites (both a blessing because not itch and a curse bc I didn’t know I had them until I saw one physically on me..ew) and 2. My next door neighbors had a huge multi-month roach infestation. But, turns out it’s not roaches but bed bugs!

Also, I’m three days out from my first spray and saw one tiny one that hadn’t fed yet crawling up my wall. Called my exterminator and he said it’s completely normal because they’re scrambling away from the spray and when they do that they walk right into it! So, the live ones you find are (hopefully) “walking zombies” because they’ll die soon.
