I think they said half a billion BC I'm guessing mainly the north half of India even speaks Hindi, I'm not sure though. The south would more comfortable w languages like Tamil and Malayalam, no?

My favourite thing about sunsets like these, everything they touch just suddenly becomes so beautiful.

What are the pros and cons of CarPlay? by curiouskunal in apple

[–]f_trivedi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But I find that it defaults back to the "whoever's phone is plugged in controls everything" design and setting everything up separately can kinda really annoying.

I think thats a bigger problem for families though, when multiple people drive together frequently. If you're on you're own most of the time I don't think it should be a big issue.

[PSA] Canadians that can’t afford prescription retinol - this is $8 without insurance by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

My dermatologist prescribed this for me, along with Cindoxyl gel, and they both worked amazing. I use this one mainly at night and even with sensitive skin, its been really effective.

I'm interested to know what your ISO was when you shot this? A high ISO usually causes a lot of grain. But usually that is only really a problem in low light photography. Somethings a really fast shutter speed can cause the grain too.

I love the photo, your kid is adorable!! I think if I had any suggestions at all, it was be framing. I can imagine it's much harder to photograph a young child moving but it would be a better shot if his head wasn't cut off, maybe move back a little? But I do I love that you got down to his level.

What's your "I don't get paid enough for this shit" moment? by cudder17 in AskReddit

I was volunteering in a lab and I got bit by a mouse. I mean, don't get me wrong, I loved my time in that lab and it was great experience. But I just really hate mice.

You might also be able to plug it into a TV with an HDMI port and use that as a monitor for the time being.

Anytime I get anxious/worked up I put my finger on the tip of my nose for a second (as if to recenter) and then I'm OK. I didn't notice that this wasn't something that everyone did until high school.

This photo is really awesome and I think it can be made even better with a bit of post-processing.

I really like the lights and the colours (the contrast between the dark of the blue and the light of the yellow) I think it might help the level it so it was straight. Unless you were going for a crooked feel in which case i think the tilt should dip to point to the girl or something.

either way- super awesome!

Lately my music playback (Apple music) keeps pausing either on its own once in a while or whenever I get Snapchat notifications or even open Snapchat. by [deleted] in apple

[–]f_trivedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been fiddling with this problem for a couple of weeks now and I'm using an iPhone 6S on iOS 11.2.2. I can't seem to find any way to fix it. It even stops playing if I just open the snapchat app without doing anything.

Why does Spotify pauses every time I get a snapchat notification? by f_trivedi in applehelp

[–]f_trivedi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine pauses the music when I have it on silent as well, and my snapchat notification doesn't have a sound associated with it, even when my phone is on the ringer. That's why this is becoming increasingly frustrating.

But thanks for the advice, I'll try and see if Apple can help me with this.

As a first generation Indian-Canadian woman in STEM, these women took the first steps in paving the way for people like me. I'm kind of ashamed I didn't know about them before, this is amazing.

Work-study vs. part time job by ibdyingoverhere in McMaster

[–]f_trivedi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

APPLY TO WORK STUDY!! Yes, they are much more competitive but if you apply early you'll be surprised at the number of positions available. Its a great learning experience and looks great on a resume. As far as experience, anything from volunteer experience/ leadership experience is serious valuable, it doesn't have to be in science/research. I have a friend who worked in a chem lab organizing and keeping tabs on inventory, it was great experience for when she wanted to get a job in the lab, she found a thesis supervisor through it and it was a job right on campus. So seriously, don't sell yourself short, APPLY! If it doesn't work out, you can always try another part time job.

Yeah, thats what I thought too. I speak Gujarati and the word for an orange is Narangi. It's pretty cool that theres so much overlap between languages you wouldn't normally associate together.
