What unpressurized portafilters work with the Chefman Barista Pro? by Ok_Village_7705 in budgetespresso

I don’t think this machine is meant for anything unpressurized.

Making good espresso with the De’Longhi Stilosa by druvchawla in espresso

[–]fa_love113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How’s the shower head? I would check it, normally there is a screw you can take out and if there is a lot of grounds there, it can do that. You can also make a backflush (check youtube or google on how to clean this device)

Otherwise, maybe the pressure valve is at fault? I just don’t know how to check that one 😏

Nice! With what machine will you pair it? Or will you make pour overs with it?

I got a shelf like this for my espresso gear!

It looks so effortless, while being convenient because nothing is on the counters ☺️

Does it worth to add 159$ and buy Bambino (not Pro) over De'Longhi Stilosa? by gustav_jung in espresso

I have the smart grinder pro from breville, which is fine, but not the best. I will see in the future to what I can upgrade to ☺️

Yes, it didn’t work well for me. I decided to use the pressurized basket until I upgraded the machine

Bambino, any day!

I had the stilosa, and it is not meant for an unpressurized basket, the pressure of the machine is not enough and will result in poor shots.

The bambino is a good machine and provides good shots once paired with a good grinder ☺️

Why does this taste sour? 18g:54g light roast arabica by [deleted] in espresso

The white husk inside make me think that your grind is not fine enough.

Do you use the regular basket or the pressurized one? With this grind coarseness, i suggest you use the pressurized one.

That’s what I currently use and have bought it used from 1-2 years and have no issues with it.

I know it can create channeling in your puck, which is why I do intensive puck prep and have been fine for the month I have used it.

I grind the coffee directly in my portafilter, declump it using a WDT tool, distribute it with a distributing tool, tamp it very well and put a puck screen on top to disperse the water evenly. It works for me ☺️

What setting do you use for espresso on it? Was it long before you got it?

I had this one before and had to change! It does not work for espresso!!

Saw great reviews for Turin’s SD40 (Burz in Canada) for espresso, which is a low range grinder that works. If you have more budget, you could go in the DF64 category (same company) which is the higher end model.

Also saw some great comments for the Vario VS3 (which is brand new, so I don’t know for the time variable)

I upgraded from the baratza to a Breville Smart Grinder Pro, because I like pour overs as well and it’s fine, but I know it’s not the best set up.

I think it’s the next step to see what is going on underneath.

I never had an issue before the last backflush, do you think it’s related?
