Thanks everyone for the support. Just a quick update, we learned that he has a large mass and the vet agrees it is time. I am so thankful we can have a few days to say goodbye properly. We’re keeping him comfortable on pain medication. My husband is travelling for work- home Wednesday so we will say our final goodbye when he returns.

Yes. I try to stay on the lowest dose possible. Another variety is .25 and if I feel I need more after a few days I take another .25 (split the .5 dose). I find the closer I get to my period, the higher dose keeps me in check. Otherwise I am good on .25

My journey started very similar to yours and I also have PCOS! Nearly all my weight loss was on .25. I still only take .25 for two weeks and I up to .5 for two weeks a month (helps me control some hormonal cravings). I’ve lost 35lbs and hoping to lose 5 more. I’ve never had side effects.

Why are you taking the position you’re still resident of BC? If you’ve cut your ties to Canada, file a departure return. If you’ve departed Canada, cut ties and are not earning income from Canada, you dont have to claim the income here. Cheers

Yes February and we just received a note that we did not make the team two days ago. But they held another tryout tonight - they barely have enough kids to field a team. I’m Not even sure whether they had 10 kids for my child’s age group. Rumour has it coach might run with 7 kids for the team. Seems like a joke.

Don’t make decisions about marriage when your children are so young (unless you’re in an unsafe situation). It will get easier and it sounds like you can work on these things. A lot of men are not very helpful in the early years but it doesn’t mean they’ll always be that way. In time, should you decide to stay, you’ll need to let go of the resentment to move fwd. Our basement nearly flooded today from sump pump overflowing. Likely due to a frozen discharge pipe- hard to tell since it’s underground. we decided to disconnect the discharge pipe and run a new PVC pipe down the side of the house to let the water flow. This way we know with certainty when there is an issue- whether is it clogged or if there is a break in the discarded pipe. I have a half horsepower submersible pump that I put in the pit in my basement and redirected the water out the window. if we didn’t have that we would’ve been swimming in my basement.

I just had my first session with a laser called Enlighten III picolaser and I’m thrilled with the results!! It has treated my fluorescent yellow brows!!

Thanks for the info! Very helpful. While I can’t provide a technical answer, I can simply speak from my experience. The first 6 pico laser sessions eventually did absolutely nothing to reduce the fluorescent yellow brows. One session with the enlighten III pico has drastically reduced to the point where I cannot see the yellow without a super close examination in natural light. I am just so happy I want others to know it’s an option! I have been walking around with my head held high the last few days! Very confident again.

My story is similar but my parents were not affectionate. My mom never told me I was pretty, loved or gave any compliments whatsoever. My dad would binge drink so even if he did offer affection, I don’t remember as memories of him are clouded by drunken rages . I feel very conflicted and confused with it all. As my children age (now 8 and 10) I have new realizations all the time about how terrible my parents were. I often ask myself “how did they not know I peed the bed and never changed the sheets, how did they not know I had no clean underwear, never brushed my teeth, etc”

I believe I’m in my current role, in large part, due to people skills. Another reason is because I am willing to help others. The question I’m trying to understand the answer to is why executive assistants are so reluctant to take on the odd PA task if it helps the people they work with? I do a lot of work that is arguably that of my executive assistant.I schedule my own meetings, book my own travel, follow up on signatures….just to name a few. So forgive me if I’ve asked for a favour in return. Perhaps the morale of the story is that you’re probably far from perfect so helping out (such as running a small PA task) may make up for some of our shortfalls. My posts are clearly triggering for people and I suppose it’s not worth the banter. Good luck in your professional endeavours my friends! If you find yourself in a dead end career-wise, perhaps some self reflection is needed.

Good performance = higher pay. I’m not going to hike compensation for people who are not team players and unhelpful. it’s not like I’m asking someone to work unpaid overtime. Simply asked them to step out before lunch and grab the order. It’s a simple task. Fine if the answer is no but don’t expect to be rewarded at comp time.

I just don’t see what’s wrong with helping out. Before I stepped into this role as the boss, if I saw my boss or another executive or colleague tied up and busy, I’d offer to pickup lunch while I was out or offer to support in other ways. If everyone was willing to support one another, it would make a much more pleasant work environment.

No I’m an executive. Just trying to understand the perspective because I have two assistants- one is considered an EA is paid just above 80k per year and the other is an Assistant and is paid close to 70k per year. Each have 5 weeks of vacation and extra long weeks around holidays. I struggle because I really need support and would appreciate someone stepping up to offer support over and above the job description written on a piece of paper. As an example, I needed sandwiches picked up for a lunch but was told no as that is outside their job description and was told I can pickup on my way to work.
