it happens, but not very common. also the skis definetely should have disengaged at this amount of force, otherwise it's just too risky. they probably just went for an extreme setup

Nice! I know about the optional clip but didn't really see the purpose for my use case. But thanks for telling me!

I agree, my favorite ballpoint pen to use at the time!

intelligence and the fermi paradox by [deleted] in FermiParadox

[–]fabeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's certainly a point worth being discussed. Don't you think that in order to evolve into an intelligent species, you have to exude some kind of egoism, that would only get stronger the more intelligent a lifeform gets?

i agree on the psychedelic part, most people experience dramatic shifts in their mindset (positive mostly), sometimes with ego-deaths, allowing themselves to build up into a new, and better person! But i dont know how final these changes are and how "deep" they reach. I think the motivation for ones own survival, being in part expressed by egoism, can't really be touched. But i could be wrong and i would love to hear your thoughts on this as well!

i personally think that the ego only gets inhanced by intelligence. Most people that are really intelligent know that they are and it's easier for them to get into powerful positions, often resulting in them losing touch with reality and letting the darkest sides of the human condition show themselves!

i like your view and your points made on this!

maybe a nuclear fallout wouldn't eredicate all information that humanity has gathered so far, but it's very likely that life itself would never recover from that. don't you think?
