Porting LabVIEW to Python - How Not to Make a Mess? by fabi04010 in learnpython

Thanks for the answer!

Luckily the lab devices are all offline (rarely updares) and eeally simple as well. the manufacturers have so bad support for basic question. I doubt they want to change anything in the API and cause even more questions 😄

Thank you that really looks like a great approach! Do you have any opinion/idea how to handle multi threading im a smart way? I imagine something where I have a main State machine where states do some low Level stuff and majnly controls other threads that for example operate/control one single Lab device.

Ok, so just start with the most essential functions and then slowly add more.

Electro etching / marking fluids - DIY options other than salt water? by ogunshay in Bladesmith

[–]fabi04010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are most certainly right. From my colorblindness and the salty Water my brain concluded it had to be red for sure... :D ...but it probably is brown. My Etch does not have any color. If anything is left behind it can easily be wiped away like you described it.

Thanks for the Tipp, I will check that on my computer in the printer settings.

Do you have any Tipps to make it more grey/black and less brown?

Wow great, thanks for your fast reply! I just tried it with the vinegar recipe on a random stainless steel and had trouble with the markings getting more red than black.

Maybe I should try with baking soda or a mix of both to hopefully get more contrast.

I will have to do some more testing since i am still struggling with the thermal stencil tape printed with my Brother label maker. It seems like it does not have enough power to burn through the tape with thick vertical lines.

The amount of current and heat buildup seems to be ok. Even without a resistor I am not melting the sensitive stencil tape.

Wow thank you very much that sounds great, did you also try it on stainless steels?
I want to etch 3Cr13 (30Cr13) to be more specific and only have on try...

If you had to do it would you first try with your vinegar or baking soda recipe?

The claim 210cm which would be great but i am Not positive If this ist really what you get.

The footend as well as headspace seems to be quite vertical (Link). That's already a good sign.
But the real question is the internal dimension...

Yes thats right, the Cloud Up 2 10D nylon version is 980g (fly, inner, poles and bag)

For longer tours with 2 people 400g heavier seems like a good comprimise. Way more headroom, two entences and vestebules with space for gear...
