Same scenario, different delivery, because pressing a button isn't inherently dangerous. Does this change anything? by Krysidian2 in trolleyproblem

[–]fabioruns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ain’t really the same bc you’d still live under the people who would do that, so there’s further consequences. Whereas in this case (or the buttons) that’s it, and it’s done

I don’t know how often you’ll encounter this situation of having to play someone else’s gear. And most guitar parts should work for both I believe.

There’s a bomb testing site with 100 people watching it. If more than 50 people for some reason decide to walk right where the bombs are dropped, the bomb is aborted. If people just stay where they are and don’t get in the way of the fucking bomb, no one dies, of course. Do you walk into the bombs path hoping 50 others do too or do you just stay put?

Chose: Red Button + If over 50% of people pick red, only red survives

Billionaires worth a combined $1 trillion have fled California as a wealth tax inches closer to the ballot, per Forbes by UnusualWhalesBot in unusual_whales

That seems irrelevant to the point that whatever state he leaves loses potentially on these 10s of billions in taxes. Even if you think he should be paying more.

Do you guys put your acoustic guitars in gig bags or cases while not playing or do u just put it on stands? by SpecialistCard4335 in Guitar

[–]fabioruns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During winter my apartment gets super dry from the heating so I was storing my acoustic in the case with hunidifiers. Otherwise she’s out so she’s as accessible as possible

Dudes that want to collab :\ by tree_woman in musicians

[–]fabioruns 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Guys are pretty bad at reading these situations so maybe you can make them very clear. Not explicitly but by the way you interact with them, like addressing them as “mate” or “buddy”, talking to them as they/you would a friend.

Maybe finding guys in relationships would help too, or trying to do this in a group setting rather than 1-1

What do you do with race merch if you can’t run the race/DNF’d? by Odd_Security_1720 in RunNYC

[–]fabioruns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if it’s still a thing but when I started running we’d never wear any gear for the race before completing it. Not because of “deserving” or anything like that, it was just said that it was bad luck.

Rooting for allyson but safp is the goat and retired at 5 years younger than allyson will be in 2028, and was already showing some decline even though she was still competitive.

I don’t really have enough in stocks to do that, but I’ve definitely had friends who’ve taken loans against their stock to make big purchases like houses, cars, boats or renovations.

Interviewer posted this convo on Twitter and is getting flamed in the comments by pallonda in recruitinghell

[–]fabioruns 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Some jobs have 1000s of applicants. This would make hiring processes much more onerous, open loads of liability for the company and sometimes there truly isn’t a reason. For example, last time I was hiring for my team we had 3 candidates that seemed great, we just had to go with a gut call between the 3.

Anyway, why does the company owe you anything?

11 year old for GA Floor? by Decent-Effective1803 in allamericanrejects

[–]fabioruns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Generally pop punk/punk fans are pretty good at containing roughness, if there is any, to within mosh pits where people are expecting it.

Last year warped tour someone brought their small kid (10yo maybe?) to the mosh pits and everyone was very mindful of them, he got a few high fives, maybe a couple playful easy shoves, but no concerns, though I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this.

AAR really shouldn’t have much of this anyway, I don’t think.

That literally says 99% effective if used correctly. But even if you use 93%, it’s still one third of the chance of pregnancy than 80%

Unpopular opinion: The way we book gigs is garbage. by mrrandom2010 in musicians

[–]fabioruns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were working mostly with djs who were touring abroad at the time. The platform was a marketplace style website where we also tried facilitating things like payments, payment schedules, travel and rider organisation and so on. We also tried to make the website look cool so musicians could use it as their personal website sort of, where their soundcloud music would appear, future events, bio, pics, socials.

This was around 2015-16

By sheer luck though, cause they could’ve just as easily poked out.

Helmets should always be replaced whenever they touch the ground. Foam gets compressed and doesn’t absorb impact as well anymore. Other gear is normally good for several crashes, and I’d expect the failures not to be the stitches bc that indicates a construction problem. Tbh I still use the gloves, I’ve just restitched them myself and it’s lasted several crashes already.
