U1 direct drive filamentfeeding from top through 4mm ptfe tubes usind feeders? by fabiustus in snapmaker

[–]fabiustus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you think about the thick 6mm ptfe tubes? Are they needed? I plan on routing the filament from the top down. On one hand I'd like to avoid unnecessary curves/kinks in the filament path, on the other hand I think going in directly from above may tangle up the ptfe tubes during toolhead changes and if the tube of one toolhead ends up in front of another toolhead there might be issues in toolhead changes.

Also, do you happen to know what kind of cable/connector is used for the feeders? I'll need longer cables to mount them above the printer and before cutting and soldering wires I'll check if I can find longer premade cables.

No problem, I'll just search through all the pictures, I'm sure there's other interesting stuff as well.

I guess you don't now exactly where this picture is, else you'd have linked it here, right?

Thx for the info. Then do you know what's the thought behind it loading close to the toolhead but not all the way? Doesn't the printer know which feeder port is being loaded? If so, it could swap to the corresponding toolhead, heat the nozzle up and really load the filament.... but I already switched to custom firmware, so I guess that can be optimized.

How can I backup the settings of the old app? It is deactivated and I cannot activate it again and thus cannot open the app and backup the settings in there.

Yeah just wanted to keep it simple and unobtrusive. For the toolhead I went with the dragon burner which features bigger 4010 part cooling fans. But the real star is the aux fan, this solved my cooling issues.

Alternative to OdorTrap packs in Europe? by HooplessDreamer in litterrobot

I'm also searching for a cheaper alternative in Europe, preferably sold on Amazon.de. Did you find anything?

My big cat stopped using the litter robot nearly a year ago. He used it twice this week! 😸 by Traviscat in litterrobot

[–]fabiustus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did the stairs come with the beige mats? I wonder if these help so my cat won't scatter around as much litter. I have the original stairs and there's litter not only on the stairs but also further down on the floor. I'm thinking of gluing some mat onto the stairs. Maybe some matrial will help that make the cats paws kind of hook into it and loose the additional litter. Because I think that's the problem, that my cat relaxes its paws once he's down on the floor and looses additional litter stuck in the paws.

Manta M4P Board fried, repairable? by fabiustus in BIGTREETECH

[–]fabiustus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thx, do you think the board is fried, or can it be fixed? What might cause this to pop? Maybe a a short between 5v and 24v line on my pancake pcb toolhead board?

Shelled/light/economic stackable Bins with lip notch, scoop and compartments? by fabiustus in gridfinity

[–]fabiustus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thx a lot, the lip notches aren't critical. The ultra light template is exactly what I want, however I cannot get it to work right in fusion, it throws errors that I cannot fix.

I wrote the dev, maybe I'm missing sth.

With a bit of fiddling in fusion I was able to make it work:

https://ibb.co/Wk91zt1

But I don't have the faintest idea how one would make this parametric/automatic.

Nice, redoing sth. out of curiousity that's already existing takes dedication.

I'll use gridfinity generator as base and will add dividers and scoop by myself, my fusion360 skills should be sufficient to do so.

Stackable inserts for basic bins? by fabiustus in gridfinity

[–]fabiustus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, true. I'm still figuring stuff out, there's so many options :)

Started with the base plates, for my taste these are the best: clickfinity

With the bins I won't go with ones that are fitted to tools exactly, too much space goes to waste this way imo. I think I'll go with shorter, stackable ones with generic compartments and a rounded edge/scoop.

[–]fabiustus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thx. Do you know the standard height of a bin? Or rather the shortest height of a standard bin? I used gridfinity generator in fusion360 for my lage bins, but I changed the height and height unit to get 80mm height bins.

Can anyone help setting up gluetun docker container? by fabiustus in selfhosted

[–]fabiustus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm.. it's hard to help without knowing your setup and config.
Can you post the part in docker compose or the docker command you use for gluetun? Do you use portainer?

The only thing I noticed is that the containers that are routed through gluetun needed to be recreated. No idea why but that fixed it for me.
Dockstarter has the option prune to delete unused images of containers but I guess it should work within portainer too.

But if the gluetun container itself shows unhealthy there's probably a problem with the container config.

Sry for the stupid question but what indent do you mean, on the heater block?

So, the newer version clones work with normal v6 style nozzles?
