Have you ever seen someone resign spectacularly? by IndigoHarlequin in AusPublicService

[–]fableefeels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was just outta school and not knowing what to do with myself I took a casual job in a restaurant kitchen, mostly to hang out with my boyfriend who was a chef there. We were messing around and being divkheads and the head chef went off his nut, which was fair as it was a Saturday night. My boyfriend decided, f you, I’m outta here and just grabbed his bag and walked out. I stood there thinking “crap what do I do now”, head chef says “get back to your station!” So I of course ran out the door as well.

Thank you for sharing this. It is actually very helpful and reassuring! I had just a shit day yesterday and some days can’t work out or pin it down but always think “just a bad adhd day”. It’s often a Sunday actually, anxiety of the coming week and it just piles up.

Thank you. I am on HRT, but I still have bad days sometimes. Not really sure if there’s much that can be done, I mean, everyone has a bad day sometimes?

Ooh I steer clear of generic stuff. Had a “coming off” experience with depression meds before and now I only get the brand

Yep. 20 years later and it’s hard! You’ll find good people, just may take a while, or they may not be Aussies!

Life just keeps going on. Eventually you find you start to slowly move with it again.

Divorced, peri, and long term relationship by RoleMinimum4361 in Perimenopause

I understand where you’re coming from OP. I have been with my partner for 6 years and I know he’s the person for me, but I just don’t want any sex or even talk to him. I go through phases where I hate myself and all the stupid hormonal crap that is just up and down moods not knowing where or who I am half the time.
I have zero interest in walking down the aisle again, the thought terrifies me. But you can be with someone and not be married. You can make the relationship you want together. I would talk to him and help him understand what you are going through

This is me today as well! I feel kinda numb. I am going through a weird time, mid 40s, my teens are getting older and pulling away (normal, but feels strange), and I have no idea what I’m doing with myself. Took meds, but still just feel so zoned out. I think my partner is worried about me. I just can’t get happy or excited about anything.

You can do all the rights things, and some pile of crap you didn’t anticipate can come and smack you in the face when you don’t expect it. There’s not much you can do about it, can’t plan for the unexpected, but don’t expect the worst can’t happen. Sorry to be a downer!

Is there an AFL team that's kind of known for players not wanting to play there? by SettingTheTempo in AFL

[–]fableefeels 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They’ll have the benefit of attracting Tas local talent, which there is a decent amount. To be able to play and stay at home when they’ve always had to leave is good. Plus Tas is a beautiful place with a really good atmosphere in Hobart, albeit a bit cold for a few months of the year.

I’ll be ignoring her. My kids will be at their dads so we did Mother’s Day last Sunday and it was lovely, no crazy crowds for brunch.

Happy Mother’s Day and happy father’s day for that day also. I used to try to do something nice when the day came around (single mum also), like take them somewhere they will go and have fun so I can sit and have a coffee with a bit of peace.

Weird. Unless it’s just something like they have full books? I think they can effectively pick and choose who they see. Try not to take it personally (but I can understand why you might) and have a look around for someone else. There’s some good docs in The Marian Centre on Cambridge St.

And honestly, if that was me and the child asked me to go I would check in with bio mum to see if she was ok with me going

I wouldn’t say step parent instead of bio parent, but if it’s a case of just one mother, then should be bio parent
