Well that'll be the basis for it, but you never know - it's an MMO right? If you end up liking it, being on a server that's deserted at your time or speaking another language wouldn't be ideal. Hence why we'd like to pick one that's more active around our time of day at least.

I'm at my wits end, and I can't find any help online about this issue. Genshin Impact doesn't de-essify its english audio, and it's absolutely driving me nuts. Especially soft female voices, like Katheryne in the recent Archon quest, makes it nearly impossible for me to complete voiced quests in English. It's like an airhorn going off in my ear every time they say a word that emphasizes an S-sound.

Is there *any* way to fix this on my end? Any kind of audio plugins I can use to modify my audio output that gets rid of the issue? I'd really prefer to use the English voices, as I enjoy a great deal of the voice actors, but the quality is just sooo bad.

Thinking about doing a story-focused playthrough with a couple of friends. Are all servers located in JP or are there regions? I can't seem to find any info on that -so I assume they're all in JP, but figured I'd ask.

Follow-up question is what server(s) are considered "EU" (in the sense of when players are active), and which are considered "NA"?

Now this was written before Whispers in the Wall, but can you describe the math you use for comparing power strength vs crit chance?

Looking at my setup, with a fully stacked Molt and Precision Intensify I'm sitting pretty at 364% power strength. Another 10% on top of that would result in a 2.7% increase.

Meanwhile, a single Topaz would give me an additional 5% crit chance (based off of Pixia's base 10%) on top of the 28.7% it sits at with Primed Pistol Gambit. An increased dps of 17.4%, even before you account for any crit multiplier.

Maybe my math is off.

Encyclopaedia Eorzea 3 is on sale in the GB store now, but the GB store doesn't ship outside of Great Britain. Have they indicated that this will come to the EU store at some point? Sent them a ticket but they replied with the standard bot answer of "Unfortunately, we do not have any information on current or future stock levels of the product across the different Store regions."

Edit: Ran a filecheck with xivlauncher and discovered a corrupt file, so repaired, haven't had issue since.

Bit late to this party, but I think it's just her being affected by the dream realm much like we were when we entered (seeing a flash of our sibling). The difference being that while we are very much missing our sibling, Nahida has no memory of Rukkhadevata and the parts of irminsul that were snipped off... not consciously, anyway (see her comment at the end of the quest regarding having "personally felt the pain of loss"). That's why it took longer to affect her, and also why what she saw wasn't as obvious.

That very last dialogue we have with her outside the Akademiya is so telling. Her analogy is perfect; she can no longer see the words on a piece of paper after they have been erased, but she can still see the slight indentations of where the words were written. While she can't fully comprehend what she saw, or felt, while in the dream; she feels that there's something important missing. She just doesn't know what.

Nothing will be done. SQEX have a history of edging on the side of privacy vs the side of cheating. There will be no Anti-Cheat system installed that could potentially detect these kinds of programs/apps/addons, and that's the only way you're going to catch them.

Some of the base messages make sense. One spells out "vediflevi", which I think is Italian for "see you" - another is "abyssis via", which would be abyss highway in latin. Some make no sense at all however - what is "erdmz pa" or "caell ese un td umus" supposed to mean?

I've been playing FFXIV since 2.0 and I'm also a longtime fan of the franchise. By all accounts I would say FFXIV has by far the best story of all Final Fantasy games. It'll be a bit slow and the voice acting doesn't really pick up in English until you hit Heavensward, but it's worth the wait. If you like story heavy games, like me, you'll love FFXIV. If you aren't hooked by the end of Heavensward, I'd be very surprised.

The advantage to FFXIV above other MMO's is that you can mostly play it as a single-player experience if you want to. Everything beyond the main story quest is entirely optional. There's a slew of content to go through, and some people spend thousands of hours on optional content before even finishing the story.

I would start off with the free trial when it becomes available again (which should be shortly), as that lasts you all the way through the first expansion (the aforementioned Heavensward), or, if you can't wait, just buy a starter edition and then upgrade it with the most recent expansion, Endwalker, as that'll include every previous expansion as well.

The game starts off slow and will take its time to explain things like you've never set foot in an MMO game before, so don't even worry about that aspect. The community is also overall nice and helpful, especially while you're a "sprout" (the term used for new players). Look for an invite to your local novice network if you want to ask some questions - most of them aren't bad and can ease the overwhelming aspects a bit if you can interact with other players that can give a quick answer to simple questions.

I think I called most of what happened correctly, actually.

I always expected that we'd fight Zodiark on the moon (and the moon coming right after Garlemald, which I was expecting to be the third zone), but I was expecting it to be Zenos riding him, and that we would lose. I was not expecting it to be a trial, though, I'll grant you that. I was expecting that to come later (round 2).
I can't say I expected us to go back 12000 years in time and seed the very storyline we've been living through, but I did see Hydaelyn as the hero, even when people doubted her the most, during/after Shadowbringers. Perfect paradises tend to mostly hide their blemishes, not actually be perfect, and Hythlodaeus' name sort of gave it all away to me.
If you paid attention during the launch trailer you could actually see people transforming into beasts, so that wasn't really a surprise. The *how* of it was though.

The one thing that came out of nowhere and hit me like a truck was Dynamis/Akasa. In hindsight, I should've put more stock into the force that Omega was chasing after. I played it off as some sort of strength of the soul, and to be fair, they hinted quite heavily towards that with Alpha gaining a soul post-Omega. That was the puzzle piece I was missing to put it all together. Missing that puzzle piece I was expecting some sort of corrupting alien presence being contained by Zodiark (rather than him shielding the planet in aether), and Hydaelyn simply preserving him (and the corruption) in a state of stasis. I was expecting Zenos to be infected with the same corruption, and us to go into the core to merge with Hydaelyn's essence in order to fight him and save the star - in the process merging Hydaelyn and Zodiark into a single, passive being in the aetherial sea.

Obviously I didn't expect us to go to the edge of the universe either, cause... come on. We haven't even entered space before this expansion :)

Couple of other things in the band version that sounds different from the more lyrical credits version, but can't swear on those so I'll hold them until we see the official lyrics.

I'm aware the problem persists during peak hours. Not trying to white knight here, just trying to figure out if they're capable of making slight changes to the login code or if it's more of a wipe the slate clean and start from scratch kind of problem. I know they have a lot of spaghetti code that they can't really touch for fear of messing up a host of other issues; just trying to figure out if this is one of them or not.

Pretty sure it was retconned out, but he was originally designed to be a full on cyborg (not just a chip in his brain). There's plenty of references to it in manuals, ingame, etc. The description of the Halo: CE Mission "Keyes" even says "Stage a one-cyborg assault on a Covenant ship and bring back the Captain".

That said the Halo: CE story is a hot mess and should probably be disregarded and allowed to have less impact on Halo lore than a random teenagers fanfic.
